Looks interesting. I tried to sign up for the beta, but it says I'm "too far away" from the servers, etc. But maybe i can try the open beta when it happens soon. Nice find.
"A while ago, you signed up to be a beta tester for Gaikai's revolutionary cloud gaming service. Finally, the wait is over: you've been hand-picked to help us in our beta test of Mass Effect 2."
Yeah thanks. Too bad I'm apparently too far away from your shitty servers.

Gaikai makes it easy to experience premium 3D video games instantly, right in your browser. As a beta tester, we need you to play some games to help us make sure our service is rock-solid before we unleash it on the world.
Keep it quiet though -- please don't forward this email or share this link with anyone. We want to make sure all the kinks are worked out before we open the floodgates.
Seeing how people mentioned onlive in here i thought I'd try it seeing how i couldn't last time.
There's a few games up there now with all free trails.
Graphics arn't bad at all lol, defo needs fine tuning like but give it a try.

hmm i can't connect to the beta, it worked yesterday from work and now all it says it's a fault on our side bla bla shit... I finally want to test this!
So I just tried Crysis 2 on this Gaikai. Honestly, it plays smoother and looks much better than the console version! Something really sad, when streamed games run and look better than consoles.
I tried The Witcher 2 through GMG once and it ran pretty well. Also tried Crysis 2 now. If only the performance would be a bit better and also lets you increase the resolution so it would be less blurry.
I got that too, couldn't load anything at first.. I kept trying, it eventually loaded, then dumped me after 30 seconds. Apparently an 8/8 line isn't fast enough >_>

Hehe yeah it is quite strange. My line is really terribad so I was expecting that kind of warning. Onlive did work when I tried it, everything was blurry as hell, but at least it let me "play"

It's already streaming at 720p. They use x264, so quality is really good, compared to shit like Onlive, but they do run at 30fps instead of 60 in the case of Onlive. Depending on the game, I'd take 30 with much better graphics than 60. My point was that with the limitations of 30 and 720p streamed, it still looks much much better than the PS3 version of the same game.
Crysis 2 seems to be worse than most of the other games. I tried The Witcher 2 among others and it's as I remember. It runs really great while not looking bad at all. And yeah, it's better than what the current consoles offer. I can actually see something like this replacing consoles in the future. Problem is, as was mentioned before, how services like this will be funded.
