My Specs:

WindowsXP Home
Pentium4 2.0Ghz
512DDR MB RAM (2x256 MB Sticks)
Built By ATI 256MB Radeon 9800PRO (My motherboard supports upto AGP 4X)

When I play games (quake 4, F.E.A.R), sometimes my comp just starts to load and crap during gameplay. Its like my video is faster than my computer. Its really really annoying. I am thinking about purchasing a 1024 MB single-stick RAM. Would that improve the situation? or should I save up money and buy a new CPU?

-Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. Without a new cpu, the best upgrade you can get will be more memory.
Your pc won't access virtual ram as much, so less hard drive usage. Which is what's slowing down your pc.
