Tip : - before you vote think about those people you know doesn't have DVD's .. you can vote for both , means they make 2 versions one on DVD and one for CDs .

Dvd is a good media but most of people doesn't have a dvd , i have but i don't have DVD to write DVDs .. I have but i don't like to write dvd it's take almost of time anyway .. CDs Are faster . So why do they make the games DVD only .

Somehow they will lose most of their money cause they don't remember there Are people doesn't have a dvd yet ..

Some Games doesn't have A CD version maybe 3 CDs or 5 but it's ok ..

Also not all people have a " 1 Giga VGA Card " to view the game as fast as the makers of the games .. and why they Write ATI on the game Not Nvidia !

yes it's bad i know .. let me know what you think of this ..

PS : I'm Not saying I'm Robin Hood to get money from the rich to give it to poor but at least they have to think about them .. even if they didn't buy the game .. still on their mind .. ! and not cause I'm one of them .

How much is a DVD rom now. £14.96 and I didn't even look hard. Less than the price of a decent game.
Give me a dvd game anyday over a multiple cd game.

Plenty of games have the nVidia logo, more so than the ATI logo.

I chose "both" and i'll explain why:

If the game fits on 1 cd, publish it as CD
Else, DVD.

DVD-ROM's are NOT expensive, so i don't see a reason to use 2 or more cds instead of 1 DVD.
It saves you the trouble of swapping CD's and inserting the correct CD ...

I really liked the medium DVD until the Starforce guys started to fill them up with padding files to max em out to 4gig (and in future maybe 8gig). Its purpose, mainly stopping them to spread over p2p so quickly isnt the actual problem (I luckily have a flatrate) but as many people burn the images on DVD's and mount them from there, I really think twice if I want to waste a whole DVD for BIA: Earned in Blood DVD Version, or put the CD Version together with Total Overdose on one DVD. Saves money and space Very Happy

DVD, so what if you don't fill p the DVD. DVDs are cheap. Less discs = better.

If you hate it, ignore it.

Anyone who doesn't have a dvd-rom drive by now is way behind the times. It's like asking why they don't put out games on floppy discs too.

DVD is being made for many years now, if you don't have one ... i think its time to get one ...
Can't stay with CD's cause some people are too lazy to buy a 15$ dvd-rom.

DVDs are the way of the future. Only the US is lagging behind with CDs when it comes to games.

The topic says: "Do you like the games to be on DVDs or CDs"

It does not say anything about burning them .. so i assumed you wanted to know how we like them to be published (retail, in the shop) ...

But even if you meant Warez releases, i still keep my answer..
1 CD , or 1 DVD.

DVD, dvdwriters are cheap now (about £35 a price of a game) and guess what they do cds also, lol - so no need just for a dvd drive reader, have not done anything onto cds for months, except for the odd audio disc.

DVDs all the way
£35 for dvdwriter
£15 for 50 decent quality dvdr

sorted

I think you're a little outdated. A DVD burner costs nothing nowdays, around the 50$-70$ not to mention the funny price of just a DVD drive. So soon, everyone will have a DVD burner that ofcourse burns both DVDs & CDs, which makes this poll hmm a bit pointless.

Up to 3 discs, I still prefer CD Version (SF can be easily cloned on CDs Very Happy )
From 4 CDs on, DVD is definitely better.

The DVDs i get from the shop i could not burn it .. don't know why .. even i update the firmewire of the DVD

also i think the CD copy even faster and CDs is too cheap and much faster for the speed of DVD .

when a CD damage you say ok .. i have backup of it , only 700 M ..

but when a DVD damaged .. you could imagine ..

DVD ofcourse, cds are a little outdated by now. Games on CDs is almost like using floppy disks. Those who dont have dvd readers in their computers can get one, their cheap.
