Anyone else waiting on this, it's release is due today. I cannot wait, its apparently all one huge level now.
I looked up "gormless" in the dictionary, it said "without gorm" .... so i looked up "gorm" but it wasn't there ????

1 big level? That sunds really sweet. Maybe it's exactly what tony hawk needs to make it as attractive to the gamers as the very first games were.

Tony Hawks 4, and UG where shite.
UG2 was a little better because it had classic mode and osme of the old levels.
I doubt this will be any good, but its one of the games I will be buying with my 360 when I get it.
I will download the xbox version, more to see the diffrence between the two, and cause my wife likes them.
But if its more of the same we saw in 4 / UG and Ug2 then it wont be played much.

Free roaming in a skateboard game is alot better than levels. Skateboarding is all about roaming the enviroments, so it's a great thing if they make that true in the games too.

ok, i can understand that.
it's just that since Need for Speed Underground 2 and its disapointing underground mode (which is based city-roaming, going from point A to point B without any real justifications) i'm being wary about the games offering free roaming.

Glad to see it's out so quick. Now with this (ps2 and xbox versions), quake 4, Shadow of collosus and other stuff as well, all coming at the same time, its sods law that i have been collared to clear the main room, prepare it and lay a new blooming wood floor for tommorow......nuts.... why does the other half think i can do anything ? i keep telling her i'm shite at diy, but she won't bloody listen; but there it is, all the flooring, underlay and trim, just to my right hand side... 
oh well at least i be playing all this in a newly decorated room, tommorow night if all goes well

I have a problem with the game, played it for a while now, but now im at a story mission ( in Bervely Hills ) where the skaters are in front of a gate, when i press X to activate the mission, my xbox crashes.. Im i the only one with this problem?

Just wokeup and started where i left off, right as i was getting ready to start the mission you are speaking of in Beverly Hills, only to find mine does the same. Screen freezes. I'm going to play classic mode for the time being i guess :*(

btw surely this is Tony hawks junior? As Mr.Hawks would be in his 50's now??
Bit old to be skateboarding.. unless he has one of those electric motors and a warming
blanket fitted now

I got the spare release of this game for xbox since I saw the first release was nuked for freezing. Unfortunately I am getting freezing around the time when the chick is telling you about challenges. The first time my xbox started slowing down and then froze. the second time it froze as I was skipping to the end of the cut scene where she was telling me about challenges. Again this is with the spare release of the game. Anyone getting this as well?

Somebody needs to explain to the devs of this game that free roaming ISN'T having 3 or 4 smallish levels connected via a single exit/entrance by a long sparcely detailed corridor.
Its pathetic that they even call this free roaming and having those long corridors in the game between levels plus the thrashing of the dvd drive whilst going down them shows there only there to be used by the game to buffer the next area into memory.
I played the game for at least 3-4 hours, collected all the items for the skatepark from hollywood and beverley hills plus completed all but one of the challenges in the american wasteland and found it dissapointing compared to THUG2 in so many respects, its nice that they added bikes but you don't play a skateboarding game to ride bikes. Added to that the in game music level is way to quiet on its default settings and the characters in the game seem to lack the personality or humour of the previous game as does the main game story mode.
