Hey there... most of you must've think.. OH NO, NOT ANOTHER F.E.A.R. thread, but I think I may have a different problem...

The game ran fine from stage 1 through 2 (until the end of stage 2), but when I start the 3rd stage (spoiler: when you jumped down from a platform down to the drain-age), that's when the problem started, it ran fine for a couple of seconds, I can move and such, but after a good 20-30 seconds, well, to be more precise, duringr the captain and the female colleage talked to me... , the game would lock up on me!

My setup is as follow
WinXP SP2 (updated to the latest hotfixes, that itself could be a problem)
DirectX9c (can't esacpe that)
BFG nVIDIA 7800 GTX (81.84 Forware)
Audigy 2 ZS (Creative Sound Blaster Audigy unified series Beta driver with OpenAL support 2.08.0002 (24.99 MB) 21 Sep 05 )
2GB of RAM.
I am not sure about my motherboard BIOS, but maybe I should check on that.

Well, I solved it.. I let the game judge mysystem.. which comes down to medium...

which is odd though, I though I have a pretty powerful system

DFI LAN-Party NF4 SLi-DR
AMD64 X2 4400+
2GB RAM (OCZ Value)
BFG 7800 GTX

It went down from maximum to Medium.. though I had no problem running at Max before :S no slowdown/articat/lag :S

But that's how I solved it....

yes you do mate and that a joke that now you have to run on medium.the gfx are already bland in this game, would rather not play it than have to run below what the comp can handle.
