I was thinking about this too. What do u guys see as being the next big technological thing? I mean, weve had tv's and stereo's since the 40's, the internet became huge in the 90's, what do u think is the next medium/device? Im not talking wireless internet or shit either. Like a completely new, different medium for information and or recreation

I really dont know what will be the next big thing to be honest. Ive been thinking about it and I cant come up with shit.
What i guess I see happening is something along the lines of Star Trek. Like, ur in ur house, get up and u say "Computer - coffee black" and as long as u have the coffee maker filled with beans and a filter, it will make it for u. Or u say "Computer" or "House - 70 degree (farhenheight - i dunno why I use farenheight for water temp) shower" or something like that.
I would love that. Also, i wouldnt mind seeing something like a Tricorder. A cell phone, mobile pc, psp like device. They have things that this now, but Im talking another couple of gen's in development stuff, not the current blackberries and shit - those suck imo and are way to expensive.
I would also like to see "replicators". I dont think that will happen anytime soon however as that would basically cure hunger, starvation and the poor in general. Too many ppl would lose money if replicator technology were really developed.

I would say holographic viewing. I was watching something on the TV lastnight. They're researching a new type of LCD based upon cellular structures. It showed an early form of 3d imaging. Just mono a deep red colour.

you can't 'predict' things like this. The rate the internet took off caught every1 by surprise. I guess we're just gonna have to wait and see but I hope its not a gimmicky thing and will be something of use in the world.

Perhaps be more specific. The next big thing in what?

Personally I think the major advancement we will have will be the Space Elevator. If used they way they want (to launch shuttles) they will be able to use the momentum of earth and launch a shuttle to mars in about a week.
