I've have a Dell Axim x3i from work which is pretty decent.

If you want a real powerhouse of a PDA, then the Dell Axim x50 has a 3D GPU in it. If I remember rightly it's got a PowerVR chipset, the same chip that powered the Dreamcast.

hmm.. But is there anything made for it to exploit that power? The gamemarket for the PDAs has gone to a halt..

What I would like to see is a PDA with the specs of the Dell Axim x3i and with a similar design like the PSP. Of course it would have a touchscreen and Windows Mobile 2003. Why haven't anyone made a device like this? Think of it; we would have a Pocket PC, Portable Game and Media Player.

The thing I hate with todays Pocket PCs are the silly button layouts.

there is.... the Zodiac...

and... i want a vga device... so it would have to be the x50v rather... and that has short battery life and i read some not so great user reviews... especially when it comes to support when somtns wrong with the product... though i must say ive made good experiences with the dell service and my dell puter...

If you hate it, ignore it.

I just bought an iPAQ HX2410, it should be here today in the mail

btw there is not only a GBA emulator, see pocketgear (SNES, NES, SMS, GB, GBA, etc), there's also a C64 emu, an amiga emu, a DOS emu (dosbox), a PS1 emu (not sure about what this one can run but not much I think), an atari emu, a neo geo emu, and ScummVM ! (and lots of other emu that a don't personally care for) Smile

there are also ports of Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, Quake, Quake 2, Dungeon Master, Chaos Strike Back, Marble Madness, Nebulus, Rayman, Tomb Raider, Worms World Party, Wolfenstein 3D, Rick Dangerous ...

and you can play with some games in multiplayer via bluetooth or wifi

all of that is enough to keep me busy for a long time Smile

edit :

haha there's even a winVNC and ICQ for PDA, I can see lots of use for those Smile

There are so many programs of the PPC, you can basically find anything if you have an IPAQ with a xscale processor.

I was able to use my IPAQ 2210 to Download all the setup for remote instuments i used to work on alot. Saved me from bringing my laptop into meat plants and such. And developing your own progs for the PPC are not very difficult. In university my lab partner and i made an ossciloscope, and multimeter with my old HP Jornada.

Have fun with you new PDA, heh, since im an office boy now i hardly touch my IPAQ.
