Hey guys which graphic card will you prefer to buy i mean any card thats not to expensive but thats good and can run games ( like nba 2006 nhl 2006) on a good detail setting

x800xl runs all new games fine with high for me or a x800gt for budget , or a 6600gt or 6800gt for ps 3.0

id have a ati over the last lot of nvidia cards , i had a 6800ultra and a x800xl , and got rid of the ultra , for the money ( when i got them anyways) the xl pisses over it. but id definetly have a 7800 series over a ati

Me and my buddy got exactly the same computer specs..
The only difference is that he got more powerfull RAM, and a x800, and I got a 6800GT..
We tried to do some testing, and found out that MY computer ran games BETTER than HIS because he was using a damn X800..
We're talking about the best x800 .. dunno what it's called .. Pro or something?

well the x800 and x800 pro only have 12 pixel pipelines compared to the xl's 16 and are done on the old 130 (i think ) nm technology , were the xl is on 110. they both have slower clocked memory 350 and 450 xl is 500 , and the pro has a faster core 475 , xl is 400.
splinter cell at stock speeds the 6800gt gets about a average of 5 fps more up to 1600x1200 res were there equal.
farcry the x800xl gets 7fps more up to 1280 x 1024 were its 1fps more 1600 x 1200 the 6800gt gets 6 fps more
half life 2 the x800xl is faster on all res 1600 x 1200 its 11fps quicker then 6800gt
it beats the 6800gt in 3dmark 05 by about 100 points
doom 3 the gt wins by about 10fps at high res
cheapest X800XL i could find was £167 inc vat for a gecube
cheapest 6800gt was £187 inc vat , for a oem generic model or £210 for a inno 3d
a slight overclock on the xl puts it on top in all tests except doom 3 which favours nvidia anyway. with the money you save over the gt you can get a better cooler for the gfx card and overclock it even more
edit: wow you can get a X850XT connect3d for £205 inc vat on ebuyer , or a pny 6800 ultra for £225

nvidia was the ones optimizing there drivers for 3 dmark with the lod settings on the 6xxx series as i remember. in real world games performance theres not much between the x800xl and 6800gt except in doom3 which was optimized for nvidia and half life 2 which was optimized for ati , only thing is price , for a name brand x800xl you save about £40 over a name brand 6800gt , but seeings as you can get a 6800 ultra or x850xt for that price id get either of them over the gt. i just prefer ati over nvidia theese days hence why i sold my 6800 ultra and kept the x800xl
