I'm having a strange problem lately.
No matter from what source i download ( tried all kinds of http,ftp,bt,p2p) all my downloads are corrupted!

small files work, lets say <50mb.

it's mainly executables and archives that give me a crc error.
here's some files i tried:

http://www.filemirrors.com/search.src?type=begins&file=eve_3550&action=Find (all 3 mirrors)

http://www.gamershell.com/download_8975.shtml

and also Dungeon Siege 2 on BT and yes, i tried different clients, different torrents

i also tried downloading these files on my notebook, using the same connection, and it worked!
so there has to be something wrong with my pc i guess Sad

my specs:
p4 2.6ghz @2.9ghz
2x512mb ddr ram Kingston pc2700
1x1024mb ddr ram MDT CL2.5 pc3200 <== new
sapphire radeon x800pro 256mb
hdd1: seagate barracuda 120gb
hdd2: samsung sp2514n 250gb
hdd3: western digital wd600bb 60gb
winxp sp2
dx 9.0c

i cleared all my cache/cookies on ff and on ie7 (tried downloading on both)
ran ad-aware / cleaned my registry / ran defrag
tried downloading to all 3 hdd

problem stays.
could it be my new ram is broken?
need help !
Confused

Some people say reinstalling firewall works, that is if you have 1 ofcourse.
Also it could be of a corrupt internal memory.

Are you using an old version of Winrar? It could be that too.

no, using an up-to-date version. (3.50 i think)
but i already fixed the problem. removed my new ram and tried again. works perfectly now.

sent that ram-stick back and wait for the postman to bring me a new one Smile
