Aircos do not solve the climate problem! They use such an insane amount of electricity, and power plants are the major source of greenhouse gases. Even smaller portable aircos, like this little bastard
use 2.5kW (!). That's two and a half kiloWatts we're talking here, roughly equal to ten computers. A small airco in every household means a vast increase the power demand and CO2 emissions, that's Kyoto down the crapper. This is just one of the horrible American trends that is polluting Europe.

whatever choch. it rains every single day here in mexico city,, and the thunder sets off every car alarm in a 3 mile radius, which wouldn't be so bad if people actually had land here and the cars weren't 30 ft from my ears at all times.

We can't live here without A/Cs. Today it is 35-36 C°...what should I do? Pray?
New a/c use the new materials/fluids/gas/whatever that are not polluting the environment...at least not much.
I agree about the cost part but hey...we have solar, wind, etc power as well. Tell bush to drop the oil prices and invest on something new before we are left with candles..

2 minutes into this onslaught it.. starts to ..hail?! Yes, indeed, mexico city, seated well into summer, and I'm dodging ice marbles.

You do know that CO2 is carbondioxide right? Every mammal that exhales on this planet produces "CO2 emissions".
I like the environment too mate, but maybe the anti-CO2-campaign is a bit off the trail?

yea syco, every car alarm is either the rainbow variation of annoying sounds that changes beat every 3 seconds, or the creative alternating of two equally annoying sounds. Of course, the owner of the car is nowhere to be found, so this goes on for 10 minutes at a time. And strangely, the batteries are always viable, never depleted from the noise pollution. That really pisses me off
