Just a quick question , XBMC can stream all these movies / mp3's etc..
From the PC Hard Drive to the xbox.

So why can't ISO's work on the xbox when you run them from the PC?
Also is there any applications out there like XBMC but can run ISO's
for the xbox instead?

1) No, you can not run isos or "extracted isos" from the PC. (This would be quite slow, considering the speed limits on FTPing PC to Xbox. And u lose ftp support when you load a game)
2) Isos can not be run on the xbox. (xbox only hasa a P3 733Mhz with 64MB ram, its can't handel that)

No because Xbox uses FATX and computer uses a different format or else you can using SMB, I think. You can play music, picture, and video from your PC, but you can't run XBE file from your PC. If you try to play a backup Xbox game in a non Xiso format, the game won't run because the disc is not in the right format, same thing with trying to play game from a PC.

If you hate it, ignore it.

Ah ok , I understand. I was wondering why you could run xbe's from the Xbox HD , And not the PC HD. Now i know Because of the different formats.

Ah well , I guess i'll just keep using my DVD's to run xbe's.
Thanks for clearing that up.

to clarify,

Insane is correct mag2005 is not.

part of XBMC is its SMB (aka windows file sharing) client. This client is run whenever your connected to a PC share. The XBMC program has this smb client build into itself. For games to be playable over smb a smb client would need to be included either a) inside the game (never going to happen and the initial xbe would need to be on the hdd anyways) or b) smb client inside the bios. Theoretically possible but lack of bios space makes it impractical. Nevermind the magnitude of work required. Honestly hdds are cheap enough... just go get one
