|
 |
How long can u go, like the absolute limit, without ANY sleep? not 5 mins, not 1 hour of sleep....no sleep whatsoever.
I dont mean answer individually, like how long can humans go without sleep, i know someone who's been awake for 2 weeks before still - ive stayed up for only 1 week - wanted to see if i could do what the spec ops guys do, did alot of working out and shit and stuff that requires physical and or mental stamina, till about the 3rd day then I just stayed awake for the next 4 days.
Im only asking cuz Im watching The Machinist and the guy supposedly hasn't slept in a whole fuckin year (he's all cracked out and skinny still)!
I wanna know if that really is possibly...cuz after a week, u start to hallucinate shit, done before and I know

six days is the longest I've gone without sleep, don't know how much longer I could have stayed awake. Only reason for being up all that time was 24/7 work six days straight. Could've probably squeezed in another day or so but had no reason so I spent the next 22 hours sleeping...
Going a whole year without sleep isn't possible, your brain is likely to shut down after a month tops (pure speculation).

Well there was that sleep experiment on Tv. your body starts to get dillusional after a few days so it all depends on your will power, but if you stayed awake for a a couple of weeks you'd be pretty messed up. even insomniacs dont last that long

Still quite interesting since noone knows for sure what happens after serious sleep deprevation, any volunteers?

93 hours is my absolute longest. At 100 hours appx your mind begins to enter a dillusional state. See, the thing is, you don't need 8 hours of sleep every night. You need 2 hours of REM sleep. This is what keeps you from going delusional. There are sleep pattern training programs where you can sleep two hours every 8 hours and feel more refreshed than ever (supposedly).

Well like I said there was a TV experiment. Some people had to stay awake for a week and they got about £10000 if they made it all the way. I think some1 lasted 5 days but then it was abandoned. Ive forgot the name of the show but google it and it wont be hard to find. They were in a pure white room alone, so im sure if you had something like a PC to keep you entertained / busy then it probably could be accomplished. i've been awake about 36 hours at the moment and 4 hours ago I was knackerd but right now i'm feelin pretty fresh.

I can't lie, when I bought UO many years back, I stayed up for 2 and a half days straight playing it...so as long as u have something to do, its cool ya know, not boring. Hence the reason I have yet to fully get into Guild Wars (bought it on thursday or friday). I know im gunna be up all nite playing it tonite all nite, its a long weekend here so tomorrow i dont have to work, its a sunday...what better time?

yeah, i know. But considering that nature often comes up with strange things that are not the norm, why not a guy who doesnt have to sleep? Think of the bell curve here

false hope stuff. I haven't had a nightmare in ages, not a typical 1 where you're falling or gettin shot at etc. just maybe thought provoking dreams but nothing thats made me wake up in the middle of the night.

Most nightmares aren't typical at all...the nightmares where "scary" shit happens doesnt really scare me, if u know what i mean...like dying or being chased by a murderer etc etc...its the things that i think about in the waking world that bother me and I have to push outta my mind that surface in my dreams, which i call nightmares

a week ago or whatever I had one of these dreams
Suffice to say in the dream my life was perfect, and it really felt so real..to this day i can remember every detail as clear as day...sucks, still bums me out a week later...

Typically 6 hours. I prefer to take a 15 minute nap right after lunch. I simply close the shutters, dooze off at my desk and nearly always wake up after 15 minutes without the help of an alarm clock. These siestas really do improve productivity and even mood. They're also becoming more and more accepted in America (called 'power naps' over there).
