Hurrah. (This news was out 15. sep. so I'm a little late here)

For those of you that hate LucasArts after killing Sam'n'Max 2 development:

the new developers:

..btw, I've been a fan of the Fone Bone comic series.. I wonder if this game is any good?

Nope, read it again. S&M 2 is NOT resurrected. Telltale has rights to make NEW games with those characters, not to finish the failed one.

"will be creating all-new adventure games based on the exploits of the canine-lagomorph tandem."

This means that they will probably be writing the plot and dialogue, not using the original writer's stuff.

hmm.. after reading more closely:

Few details are available at the moment, but it has been confirmed that the games will be released in an episodic format.

(I don't know if I'm too happy with that)

EDIT: @aladrinkelahn, yeah I just spotted that :/

Yeah, word I'm hearing is that they are going to suck. This really depresses me because S&M was an awesome game. It definitely didn't get the fame it deserved then, or now.

well, we can't be sure they'll suck yet. Many of the Talltale crew are developers from the first S&M and Grim Fandango.

One thing i can say for sure. New S&M will be VERY GOOD game. Most people in Telltale are those from Lucas Arts, and they know how to make good adventure games.
In fact, you can grab free demo of their first adventure game Bone: Episode 1 - Out from Boneville from http://www.telltalegames.com/bone_the_game
Try it its just 50 mb and its FUN and has nice 3D graphics.
Now bad news: You can finish Bone in about 2 hours. S&M will be released same way as Bone was released so expect it to be very short too

We'll see. Just because they were on the team doesn't necessarily mean they caused the magic, or can recreate it.

I've been too disappointed by too many sequels lately to put any faith in a sequel made by a third party. But we'll see... Miracles have been known to happen.
