i have a very old version on my modded xbox, i was wondering, if i put mpegs or avi onto dvd data discs, can the medie centre play them?

this will save hours and hours of converting the mpegs or avis to dvd just so i can watch them on my xbox, i the media centre can just read them and play them like they are played on windows media lpayer on the pc it would be awesome,

with my (its old too) version I can... I can even burn a bunch of svcd .bin files straight to a RW disc and play them .... XBMC seems to be able to read anything in any format

I looked up "gormless" in the dictionary, it said "without gorm" .... so i looked up "gorm" but it wasn't there ????

yes it should work.

I would update though, Media Centre has changed a hell of a lot since its earlier builds.

I find the best way is to compile yourself. They release a new CVS every 6hours that can be downloaded and compiled.

Sure CVS are mostly dev versions and most often not even considered test versions, but still it is nice to know that if you compile one version you can wait 6h and do it again if the first one sucked monkey ball.

I am doing one compile every week. Works great!
