Well can confirm this is a great chip it was the GC first ever Modchip and does indeed play games from any region. It was pretty easy to install as long as you have a guide which should be easy to google it for that. It can play backups and homebrew games from direct boot i.e no swapping as long as you have the latest bios installed to the chip. There should be alot info about but alot of it was on maxconsole which is now gone. The only thing i did was too adjust my laser a little so i didn't get any disc errors but along with the new bios updates i don't ever get them now. There are other modchips about such as the qoob but the viper is the original and first GC modchip
