Just watched the first episode, and the second season manages to get even worse than the first.

Oh, without spoiling anything - everything goes just fine, like all cheezy series without any sense of reality.

Blah, I hope they cancel this shit any time soon.

Watched it too, didn't like it either. It was clear from the beginning that everything will go fine, otherwise there wouldn't have been any Atlantis left for season 2 Wink But i will watch it anyways since not much is airing at the moment besides BSG and The Inside.

I hate it when things work out perfectly. Can't they have it so people actually die, and they become desperate. Rather then the perpetual confidence present in stargate. Mad

Although I haven't watched this episode yet.

Oh, since the Stargate concept pretty much is:

1. Everything looks like it's going to hell.
2. In the last minute, someone (sometimes appearing from nowhere) comes and saves the day using:

a) A ZPM! b) A zat-gun c) The Prometheus (ie. with Asgard tech) d) A P90 e) The gate

3. If any one of the SG-1/Atlantis team should die expect them to:

a) Be resurrected b) Be resurrected through some alien gizmo/ability (ie. Wraith healing) c) Become ascended, and then change their mind

If someone actually dies it's either because:

a) They've been too damn long in the series and want out, real bad b) They sucked so much that even this series can't stand them c) They're a sideshow character

In this case, pretty much most of the above happened.

"Oh, hey! Here's a ZPM!, Here's a quick solution how to nuke the Hive-ships, here's a solution how to get the shield up, here's a really cheap ass solution how to fool the Wraith... oh, and here's another one adding moore cheese to the story"
