If i want to set up an ftp on my comp thats reachable from expoler so i can upload to it, how do i go about it?
Im going to italy next week and was thinking about doing this so i can upload all the images from my digicam smothly without having to use a ftp client on internet cafes!
Of all the things i've lost, i miss my mind the most!

Does it work in that fashion?
I already have bulletprof ftp server installed, but i want to be able to log in and upload via internet explorer if you know what i mean!

why not install flashfxp  for transfer that is.
I tried serv-u 3 or 4 times, i liked it.
But bulletprof ftp is als a good 1 i heard.
anyway, you can try to set up an ftp and login with IE at home to test it.

Most of them should work, as long as you dont turn on things like SSH logins etc...

You cant upload into explorer can you? It's just a list of files that you get to in the root indexes of most websites. (unless theres some other app i dont know about) When I had an FTP setup I used Bulletproof server and i use FlashFXP for my browsing. Why not do what I do and create a new Gmail account and name it somethin like ollaxpictures. And just send them to yourself. That way they'll be stored on a 3rd party server, you ont have to worry abt an FTP, you wont have probs like power cuts etc. When you get home you can just get em from your inbox anyway.

good luck finding internet cafes in italy... well... depends which cities are u visiting. florence is full of internet points, rome not so much

OF COURSE YOU CAN USE IE TO UPLOAD!

I would stick with Serv-U, its nice and easy to setup/install and runs wonderfully. Make sure any router/firewall is setup to allow access to port 21!
