Women wearing vales across their faces ?

for the life of me i cannot see any good in it.. surely it just should not be tolerated

I looked up "gormless" in the dictionary, it said "without gorm" .... so i looked up "gorm" but it wasn't there ????

Yes, but a more important question is should 12 year old girls be allowed to wear bikinis and bathe in nude beaches?

should men be allowed to walk around topless with nothing but shorts and flip flops on and should Hellmans make chilli sauce?

fair enough its fine then... i souldn't worry about about any of my daughters and of future generations being made to hide their face while doing the shopping ... thankyou for clearing that up for me

To everyone else. ITS A FUCKING RELIGION! Your daughters wont have to do it unless the wish to follow that religious path, it should be tollerated because we're decent people with enough understanding of the world and life to realise that people are not all the same, and anyone who thinks differently should "not be tollerated".. meh..

Not sure what part of it is wrong, but you have every right to have an opinion on the matter.. plus it seems like you didnt realise it was a religious thing..

Hell, Id like to see all women walking around naked, I dont think clothes should be tollerated, but I know I will never get my own way! Ill just have to make sure I get a very naked wife.

i would cry my soul out if my daughter or son married into a religous fantical family and had i and my wife had to endure our grand daughters walking around in public not allowed to show their face ... and i mean really cry

Id hate to see my son getting with anyone overly religious, I guess thats just because I think these things can get a little out of hand. I wouldnt mind so much as long as I could still speak with him and he could talk to me about his beliefs. My only worry is that he would get sucked into something he didnt really belive. I can see the reason why muslim women do not show they're bodies/faces, its an understandable part of that religion, I certainly wouldnt follow it, but hell thats not my choice to force onto others!

Religion is all the same, you have to stop doing something fun no matter what you call yourself Razz

i agree the justice system is lacking still when it comes to rapist's and pedophiles...I totally agree they should recieve harsher sentences if not death.

But shariah law, funny this topic came about as they are considering bring shariah law into Ontario which I find very offencive - I totally disagree with their views in most cases and this is CANADA, not a muslim state and our principles should never be changed to fit others...just like any country should do.

And about the woman being whipped, give ur head a shake..there are laws that u may not agree with, and laws that are totally retarded - this is one of em
Not to mention the fact that showing an ANKLE is considered sexual inticement and women get punished in the extreme for it...thats in the more fundamentalist areas still, but that kinda thinking is retarded and lacks human rights, IMO

Pointless discussion, really. Civilized Western societies have laws, everyone must abide by them. You can do anything, as long as you're not breaking the law. Should you want to wear a veil and not care about looking a bit daft for Western standards, you can. Look at any group of 16 year olds, they'll most probably be dressing in a much more flamboyant manner than wearing veils. Nuns aren't getting sued, either.

There is quite a difference between nuns and muslims. With nuns it's totally their own choice. Most of the time wearing a veil isn't the choice of the women but her man/father. She isn't allowed to leave the house unless she wears a veil, if a friend of the family sees her (outside the house) without one she'll get beat up at home. Also at home she doesn't wear one so her uncle can rape her and the family doesn't really care about that. That happens quite a lot in the Netherlands so i inclucled that.

Wearing a veil is a sign you are getting oppressed by your father/man.
Ofcourse some girls wear it because they find it unique or spiritual.
But a lot of girls HAVE to wear it if they want to have contact with their family.
