it's not dead... it's hibernating.

Why don't you write a TV show?
I’m sure you could make a great epic sci-fi tale about a man who was exiled from his home planet to live on some deserted land fill on a planet in different galaxy. Then one day he gets picked up by a bunch of rouge thieves and they teach him the ropes of the game. He becomes their leader and through weekly episodes you'd show how a set of rouge thieves commands the infinite cosmos through their art of con Rolling Eyes NOBODY would watch it.

What you need is the old shit. Do a simpsons rip-off... a son abusive father who loves to drink goes through a different set of adventure s with his family every week.

Or family guy... an alcoholic and neglecting father goes through different adventures every week.

or... king of the hill... a parody of an over-the-top American family

:\ see the public wants the same shit. when you introduce something new you have to make sure people will watch it. That's why you have a lot of mini-series. Very Happy People don't want to tune in every week to a family they don't know... mini series let them go on a vacation and visit an estranged family over-seas... just for a week or two Very Happy

In 5-10 years when people will want new things… tv will wake up Very Happy

Don't worry... be happy! Movies are dying too, same with music, and comics... media is dying Very Happy

You think 2005 is the year tv died Rolling Eyes

What about all those fucking shit show's like joe, fear factory, simple life, E! Channel, bachelor, soap opera's, OC, One Tree hill etc etc etc

I thought tv died back in the late 90's.

Best tv serie's Chris Carter's "Millennium", 1997-99 Smile

Check it out!!!

As long as teens will go omg da r0x0r he/she/is is H0t, it will go on and on and on ... Crying or Very sad

I know only a few serie's who actually has good actors+a solid story. But most day's it's all about having the hotest actor's in one show.

relax Lutzifer, if you liked JoA you can watch 7th Heaven instead, it's almost the same Razz But seriously, JoA was getting boring during the 2nd season, the last two eps picked up the pace a little however.

I saw ER tonight and i saw so many mistakes i got pissed and wanted to throw the remote at the TV.
Since i'm in the ambulance service i see mistakes FAST and fuck it irritates me, they really underestimate their viewers.

I watched JAG before but i havent seen the last 3 seasons or so, just don't like the comedy theme they add to it.

I watched Jag when it first came out and thought it was alright, and the main actresses are always hot - but I decided to watch one of the recent episodes and was put off by all the patriotic mumbo jumbo garbage that permeated every little thing. I nearly threw up. Maybe I was more forgiving back when it first started, but I doubt it.

Yeah it's very patriotic and the humour is made for people who must be dumb or something or kids atleast.
I cant bare it anymore, such a shame because i think it was a bit better in the "old" days

They are always canceling good shows but those faggy reality shows stay on air...WTF??

The shows i miss the most are Millenium, FireFly, Fastlane, John Doe, Brimstone, High Incident, Harsh Realm and many others and after checking on tvtome.com most of these shows were on Fox.

Why its always the action/thriller shows who goes first...thanks god The Shield is still around

My man, if you are interested in sci-fi, then you cant go wrong with SG-1 or Atlantis. Don't get me wrong, they're nothing like Star Trek, much less technical, but they're not insanely fantasy either like Star Wars. Once I began watching SG-1 from season 1, it was very difficult to stop watching. I've since finished both series so far and I am awaiting the new seasons. They're both very epic series, and every episode is crucial to storyline in some way or another. This is how Ent. was becoming mid-season, a shame it was cancelled. Hope for the future though, ST is far from gone.

i agree, tv is dead

i've just finished university, been there for 3 years and in that time have not watched tv at all, when i come home i realise i don't miss it and its full of crap. nothing but reality tv - stuff like big brother, or shows about people who move to a different country, or fix up their house, or buy a new car

i do watch tv series, but only select ones, and i prefer to get them on dvd - i've got family guy, simpsons, x-files, futurama, mork and mindy, blackadder, fawlty towers box sets.

there is only one thing that has redeemed tv for me this year - the new series of Doctor Who. i've been a fan for years and was overjoyed that they were bringing it back - it's been excellent (or should that be fantastic? ) and surprisingly successful, its gained a new audience and made people switch over from inferior programming. i guess its a shame that it hasn't been broadcast in the states, although the lucky canadians get it on CBS

Family Guy has been brought back too, but its not on TV over here in the UK yet so i've had to grab it off the internet. so far so good.

but in general, yes TV is dead. its a complete waste of potential. over the last few years there have been so many new TV channels made that stuff has to be made to fill them, so its watered down. what we need is less channels and more quality programs. we also need more reruns of quality shows.

Lost is pretty sweet if you can take the slow pace character driven parts of the show, which i can Smile .

The Inside, Tim Minears new en. aint seen it yet.

Also worth getting what episodes they made of the cancelled great Wonderfalls and Miracles.

It aint dead, its just covered in shit.

THANK YOU!! All those shows I hate...the OC being the front runner, then the paris hilton shows
Honestly, she's famous cuz she sucked her boyfriend's dick and he sold the tape....she has no talent and is ugly as a bulldog...skinny, nose like a witch, chest so flat I could iron my shirt on it - not to mention that flat ugly ass - not to mention she's as thick as a plank of wood (for those who dont get it, she's dumb)
Still, she sucks good dick - lol have the video Smile

Deadwood is the only reason I keep my TV set around.

Carnivale is rather good too.

Battlestar Galactica is pretty enjoyable and must fill the sci-fi void since Enterprise was cancelled.
