I agree. I will be happy to have some sort of VM program to run Windows apps that I need until something else comes along to replace it.
I don't exactly hate Microsoft but I'm tired of the following:
-Hot Fixes that break working parts of the OS
-Service Packs that break working hot fixes and other parts of the OS
-Microsoft's 'I don't care' attitude about the whole mess
-Idiotic decissions that wreak havoc with users; ie MS Fireall in SP2, ActiveX controls and their admin powers, Windows M.E., insanely expensive licensing, the list goes on...
-Some kind of direction on Longhorn. I've never seen such a screwed up direction from MS...
I just think competitiion would be great here.
At this point, a nice Unix based system with good security, and very nice GUI, and the ability to run Windows apps at decent speeds in a window just sounds very nice. I know Linux and BSD are out there but OS X is just so much more complete than the others.
