it looks alright although i'm not a fan of the cast and some of the "action" animations look pretty bad.

Let's See

Director: Peter Jackson (nuff said)

Composer: Howard Shore (nuff said)

Not sure about the actors, and jack black Shocked

CGI, bad in a pj movie, this will be the day.... Wasn't WETA working on King Kong Confused

CGI despite what some people might say, is awesome, and has been ever since 1988 (The Abyss) GOod directors knows how to use it well. Yes it's not the directors who create's CGI, but they are the one's who knows how to use their tools (well hopefully)

LOTR, and let's say ROTK has the best CGI so far, will probably hold a few years being the best CGI flick movie.

Good CGI for me is:

You can't spot if it's CGI or not, but even if you can it doesn't mean it's bad, Olifants in ROTK looked so real, yet some "people" said it was CGI, sure it's easy to say that, since you wouldn't build 2 tons of robots running around

When CGI is in motion and the movements/animations looks real

Directors working close up with the CGI team,Peter Jackson, James Cameron (missed any?)

Movies who has GREAT CGI:

LOTR trilogy
The abyss ..yes it's from 1986
Terminator 2 (still going strong)
Sin City

I know I missed a few other title's, help me out?

How long until this hits theaters? cause i remember seing some pretty bad cgi in the first lotr trailers... and they looked awesome in the end... so depending on when it gets release, they gotta still be working on it..

anyway, only reason i would go see it, would be JB.. it's not really my kind of film, but i do love the jables...

Sky captain and the world of tomorrow
Shrek 1 and 2
Spy kids 2 and 3d
star wars 1 2 3
Spiderman 2
Olifants in ROTK looked so real, yet some "people" said it was CGI, sure it's easy to say that, since you wouldn't build 2 tons of robots running around
ROTK was a cgi mess; from the beginning to the end. The battle scenes were horrendous. You can spot who was cgi and who wasn't (they just looked fake). You could have easily spotted the blue screen and not to mention the very last scene when everyone cheers these dwarfs.
Director: Peter Jackson (nuff said)
So we should expect a total fuck up then?

PJ, can't do action. He makes it boring. Troy had better fight scenes.
He can't do drama because, like Lucas, he cannot direct very well.

I dont particularly like jack black Smile and the CGI in this trailer looked pretty bad, particularly the dinosaurs and the car. Still i'm sure it wont look like that in the end but at the mo i'd expect much better animations given todays' technology. The film other than these 2 points looked quite good, the settings, costumes and atmosphere looked pretty nice.

Yes! I definitely tought so aswell...

I tought the movie itself looked quite nice though. I really like the atmosphere and the settings.

I thought there was inconsistancies between the size of kong in that vid. in some scenes he's huge but then in others he's just big Confused

I disagree, I think P.J. is a very talented director, with a vision, and a whole damn lot of stamina. I agree that his style isn't always the ... most appealing, but to say he's a bad director is to miss out on a lot of what he does.

I really love the photography, and consistent own character he implements in his movies - I do dislike a lot of his choices, but that is never the same as if he's bad at what he does.

I can't imagine that it was Peter's idea to do most things we disliked about his movies - I blame Philippa Boyens for most of it in ROTK(especially the love/legolas superhero stuff).

Can't forgive him for adding that mutant orc though, that almost ruined the entire ROTK experience for me - I really, really disliked it.

As for CGI - there's an expression; "If all you have is a hammer, all the world will look as a bunch of nails" - meaning, if you put so much attention into being disturbed by CGI, all you will find is how bad the CGI is, etc.

Yes, yes I'm back.
Somewhat.

The CGI looked fine to me... the fuck is your problem ?

About Hitman: Movie (2007)
Vin Diesel is a hardcore gamer, and absolutely loves the Hitman series. For that reason I have faith that he wont destroy the movie.

Response: Well, Uwe Boll probably loved the Alone in the Dark games.

when you can see the difference between CGI and normal action sequences it just ruins it. Like I said, i expect better now.

CGI - what this contraction means?

You expect them to build a giant animatronic gorilla?

Why not go watch the original king kong movies if you hate CGI so much.
