Howdy, I got my HL2 copy from EB games and installed them but disk3 was stuffed. So I used my "other" copy to install but used the bought copy serial, I took the game back and they gave me another disk set with new serial. problem is I did not write the other one down and do not want to loose it, so I can have two legit serials. Is there anyway to retrieve the serial before I format my comp. Thanks

well when ya install hl2 ya need steam and it will be reg' to your steam account. i think your just tryin to con some1 out of their serial Smile

What Sublimes saying is that EB will sell that serial on and you'll have it already.

I know that here in the UK when I bought my copy of HL2 I got a specific warning that I could not bring the game back at all as it could not be re-sold. So either EB decided to be morons that day and just gave him a new copy to shut him up. Or this guy is trying to steal a key Wink

Either way, the Key is tied to a Steam account at install, if you know the steam account you shouldnt need a CD key.
