Justice suspects a 33-year-old man of preparing an attack on Princess Amalia and Princess Alexia in February 2026 in The Hague. The man is due to appear in court next Monday, the prosecutor's office reports.
The defendant is said to have been in possession of two axes in early February with the words 'Alexia', 'Mossad' and 'Sieg Heil' and he is said to have had a handwritten sheet with the words 'Amalia', 'Alexia' and 'Blood Bath'.
On Monday morning, May 4, the day of National Death Commemoration, the first pro-forma session will take place. The defendant is then expected in the court in The Hague.
It's not the first time Princess Amalia has faced violent threats. Earlier, in 2020, she also had to go into hiding after suspect Wouter G. threatened violence and rape in a series of messages. Just before the 21st birthday of Amalia, he was released after four years of TBS.
In November 2023, 40-year-old Mohamad E. was detained on suspicion of involvement in the threat of Princess Amalia. In October, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima announced that their daughter could no longer live in rooms in Amsterdam due to serious threats.
