There are Jews who have repudiated their own ancestors in order to become “Honorary Aryans and Nazis”; there are full-blooded Jews who have enthusiastically entered Hitler’s secret service. Nazism has nothing to do with race and nationality. It appeals to a certain type of mind.

Anyone who's excessively acting out being "a nice person", it usually means they're not nice people at all but they need this portrayal as a shield (for the moment). Then if a big movement (like nazism) arrives they'll throw it away and they can be their normal ugly self because now they are safe and don't need the shield.
Of course, there are genuine nice people too, it's often not too hard to tell the fake ones from the genuine ones, the fake ones will contradict themselves all the time.
Why not have commentary open for the article btw... oh, i know why, and what this person would be.

People are by default tribal. And every tribe pumps itself as being the gold nugget that passed through god's intestine and came out among the shit. It's a morale booster.
Every nation or empire that has seen favored times believed it was due to its own inherent merits only while disregarding the rest of the picture and dehumanizing the other tribes to facilitate looting and plundering as they were owed no empathy or fair deals.
You will see this sort of narrative being sold and bought by many across history, the arabs, the mongols, the europeans etc. Everyone likes to be self-flattery & gain.
