I think we need to remember, this isnt a "game to movie".. this is a book to movie. I'm sure the changes made from the book to the game will come into the movies too, but at least there is a good writer sitting behind the stories here. No street fighter crap Razz (although I did love that movie.. )

Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing I'm sorry, did you say competent?

Rainbow Six directed by Zack Snyder (Dawn Of The Dead Remake, horrible, horrible)....
Splinter Cell directed by Peter Berg (Very Bad Things, ok, that was a funny movie, but his list is short to say the least)....

So yeah, even if they are based on the novels, these movies are walking on thin ice.

Dawn of the dead was decent! It had character development. It was better than what romero could've done him self. Old zombie movies I agree were fun and enjoyable but they weren't superb. DotD was actually decent compared to the classics.

Zack Snyder did an excellent job as a director on the remake, as stated before character development was excellent, camera work intense and the atmosphere was regained and even better then the old one.

Character development? Laughing Give me a break. You at least agree with me if I say a remake of a zombie movie is not the best of movies you can have on your list being a director? And certainly not if you play on making a movie like Rainbow Six Razz

Dawn of the dead was OK, but Land of the dead- the worst horror flick ever imo. Zombies getting intelligent? How fucked up is that?

The Idea was always to have that in the sequels to the trilogy of the dead. Though I dont know what romero smoked the days he shot Land of The Dead... What a crap fest compared to the other masterpieces.

If Romero had the money then he has now all of his zombie movies would be like land of the dead. Smile

I don't think you can dismiss a director simply because of what he did in the past. I mean look at Peter Jackson for example. He did Bad Taste and Braindead which I know is cult to some people, but I think they both sucked. But then he moved on to The Frighteners, which was a really cool movie in my opinion. And then blew everyone totally away when he did The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, so I wouldn't be so fast to judge a director over past works.I'm certainly looking forward to the R6 and SC movies Smile

Laughing speak for your self, young hobbit. Laughing Laughing

They shouldn't pick actors who look like the characters. They should pick actors who can portray the characters. Tommy Jane pwned in punisher. Very Happy Does he look like punisher?

Eric Bana? Hulk. He was fanfuckingtastic in the hulk. Does he look anything like bruce banner? Or david banner? That four eyed sex machine from spiderman. Does he look anything like peter parker? FUCK NO! Can he play petey parker? Yessum.

The Punisher should be alot darker then he was portrayed in the movie.... He should be alot more reckless and disturbing in the upcoming sequel tho.

See. People go into a movie expecting violence... gore... bone crunching lines and shit and when they're disappointed... the movie sux Laughing

Ravenous was poorly received at the theaters. Was it a bad movie? NO! Razz
Hulk had a great story, fantastic visuals, superb character development... stayed pretty much true to the comics and yet... people were disappointed because Hulk didn't smash enough Rolling Eyes or some gay reason like that.

X-men movies were utter shit. 1 and 2. Third one was pretty much the best of the three. Even though ratner is a fag, the movie had more pizzazz then the other two put together. It just was weeeeeckid!

Superman returns.... people loved it.. what did it prove? That Brian singer or synger should never ever direct a movie ever again. It was just what the fuck? Romance… hahahahhahahaha what romance? Sappyneesssss!

People loved batman begins and they should Very Happy Only flaw were the fight scenes, but everything else? Fantastic. Well, Burton fans hated batman begins... not gay enough for them Laughing

All in all! Ang Lee pwnd hulk. People just did not like it because it made them think. They went in, just like they went into ravenous, expecting a different movie. They were disappointed. I loled at them Laughing

First of all Hulk did NOT have "fantastic visuals". The hulk character was lousy animated, the muscles looked like big blobs of dead meat, and his face looked like a baby's. The acting was superficial, and the plot was close to none existing.

As for Superman, I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but originally it is a love story.

Maybe you should sit down and watch some UFC or something, which seems to be the limit of your perception skills.

Peter Berg also directed Friday Night Lights, one of the best football movies I've ever seen, as well as having some other interesting projects in the works.

Zack Snyder has some interesting projects coming up, particularly this one based on a frank miller comic
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0416449/

Now remember, I said competent. I trust these two to make these movies as opposed to say Uwe Boll or Paul W.S. Anderson Wink
