So my airbrush broke, the nozzle (which is aprox 3mm) broke when i tried to thighten it (which was a shitty mistake).

So i contacted the company and manufacture it and said i would love to get the part thats broken.

They are sending me a whole new airbrush - which is great...but wtf do they do that when all i needed was that small part? What a waste of resources imo.

Still - im happy to get it ofc Smile

If you swap healthcare insurance provider once a year, you can get a free electric toothbrush every year here.
These devices are cheap.

True, but your effort is money too. The timesink and paperwork of doing that is worth more than a $10 toothbrush unless your time doing something for someone else that is not entertaining or enjoyable (insurance company redtape, as in the end only thing different is a toothbrush) is worth $0 and hour to you.

Because the consumer demands it. We dont really care the resources are limited, long as we get our cut of it, for as cheap as possible, before it runs out.
Start selling a $10 toothbrush for $25 because resources are limited and a fair price considering finite material, see how many customers you get Razz

"Long as it last long enough to still be affordable until I myself die" is the common outlook of most. And on the bell curve of 'caring' most only really care enough to be sliiiightly better than average so 'feels good' kick in with no real impact on the issue, just an impact on how guilty they feel (as that is what really matters)

The manufacturing costs of an midrange electric toothbrush probably does not even cost a dollar.

I was speaking retail, sorry. The amount you would spend to acquire it without it being free.

Amazon sometimes isnt any better. Over 10+ years I have had the rare returns, 1/2 of them they just send me a whole new one and told me to keep the one I have. Most of the was just a small nuisance of an issue, and wasn't broke, just some part of it was damaged or such. Like my shop vac, the hose end to connect to the vac was cracked and leaked vacuum. Just needed a new hose and got a whole new vacuum. So I have two perfect fine working vacs, just with one hose between them.

I suppose its IS greener, as it's not shipping to me and back from me using trucks, planes, and boxing both ways. But seems wasteful for the actual materials and manufacturing process.

I moved to my other account I never used other than to report my main was locked out. I reset it's password to 'slap the keyboard and hit save' knowing the password reset dont work.

Keeps me out of some of the forums (not many but some) I can't see that I seem to derail with tangential to the actual subject debates.
And didn't feel I fit in with the VIP status anymore.
As if voted on now I doubt I would earn it as much friction as I cause with some. This isnt for a 'stand', or attention, or some declaration of statement to the masses about it. More my mental compartmentalization of: Not the old account, leave that on the dead one.

Plus lets people that want to vent about me (if anyone even cares enough to), have a place they know I can't see to do so free from worrying if I can read it in the VIP area. Don't know if anyone even gives enough of a shit, or care to. But at least offer them that option if they want it.

Don't you love progress ? Laughing

It's the only economic model that works, no alternatives !
You have to basically overflow the world with cheap products breaking all the time in order to keep consumption at a high-enough level.. It's amazing !
You also have to keep churning out babies for this model to possibly work - they couldn't see the demographic transition coming, so they used immigration when they saw fit, and now are telling us immigration is the source of all our issues, since they planned for it so well.

I'm as baffled and saddened by this mascarade as you are.. There are some forums/subreddits dedicated to finding stuff that lasts, with companies that have a semblance of ethics. Wink

@TheZor
I agree with those forums/subreddits. Get the good one to start with. "Buy once cry once" as they say. I learned this the hard way long ago with woodworking power tools/tools I needed when doing construction. (if you find you use a tool more than a few times a year, get the good one)

just incase anyone not familiar with that that saying means: Cry once for how much you paid for the good one, vs crying everytime the cheap ones break to get a new cheap one.

Perhaps they just don't stock spare parts and thought it would be pointless to steal the part from a new kit and thus not being able to sell it anyway.
