The Onimusha series by Capcom reawakens with Onimusha: Way of the Sword, a brand new title coming in 2026.
Featuring epic sword fights, a lone samurai wields a sharpened blade and the Oni Gauntlet. Amidst the rush of battle and a deluge of blood, he ponders on his reason for fighting.
Set in Kyoto in the early Edo period, the historic city has been transformed by the nefarious Malice with monstrous enemies known as "Genma" stalking the area around.
Demo play nicely. But RT is either broken or not implemented at all, despite the menu options. There doesn't seem to be any global GI. Maybe they use it for certain effects only.
Then again RT was also shit in RE9 and Pragmata, unless you chose the Pathtrace option (which is not available in the demo).

Today, then, the collection of lifeless pricks at DF takes a look at the
Onimusha: Way of the Sword demo running the RE engine aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand, it's a typical RE afair, but, then, lacks some of the more defining features, such as way twaycing globaw iwwumination aaaaaaaaaand turd tracing. Then, aaaaaaaand.
The PC version is going to be an unoptimized pile of shit, isn't it?
Will also have the D so yeah cherry on top of angina 5 bloat
This is running on RE Engine, which has very good performance on PC. The only thing where the engine seems to be bad are large open worlds like in Monster Hunter, but all other games just run fine (except the hideous FOV and missing UW-support, which can be fixed with RE framework).
