Nightdive is pushing these "remasters" out like chinese sweatshop.
I think for the Rise of the Triads remake it was more or less a single guy doing the changes (I could be wrong on this). In any case, it can't be too many people because revenue on these titles will be rather low, especially if they give it away to previous owners.

Yeah, nothing the Force Engine won't do, other than upscaled cinematics anyone can upscale themselves.
I have a much softer spot for DF2 onwards than I have for DF1, not really excited about this !

I'm the opposite, I loved Dark Forces when it came out, didn't really enjoy the sequels. I do wish it was a remake in a modern engine, though (kinda like the new SS)..
Been playing it quite a bit recently, it's fun and has aged well for such an old game. The level design is quite fun. it's very tastefully designed overall. The texture work is wonderful.
DF1 is probably the one i personally have the fondest memories of though. Crappy General MIDI music and all
Third level is, both literally and figuratively, complete shit.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

it's star wars + it releases on all platforms, so the price makes sense. they will make a lot of money. not that i would pay for it personally, not for this price
The price on Steam is absurd. Compare it to the effort that went into System Shock and it makes no sense
I was shocked to see it's 30 bucks. Also compare that to the Quake 2 remaster for example, which added a whole fucking new campaign from MachineGames, which was upgraded for free for owners AND only costs 9 dollars standalone.
I was thinking of getting this (or hoped I my get the upgrade for free), but no thanks.

it was recently updated with my textures, so now it's easier to just download the entire thing and have the textures + the remaster stuff (improvements to the engine basically).
