ReShaDe by crossire:
About:

ReShade is an advanced post-processing injector. It features its very own effect language, based on HLSL, which not only makes API and platform independent shaders possible, but also introduces a wide range of useful features designed especially for post-processing effect development.
In contrast to all the existing injectors ReShade was written to be completly generic: it itself does not come with any effects, it's a toolset for shader developers to realize their very own imagination. Define and use your own textures right in the shader code, request custom timers etc., retrieve access to every game's color and depthbuffer (which ReShade is able to genericly identify and hook across games without any extra configuration), no matter if it renders with Direct3D8 (which is wrapped to Direct3D9 to allow using higher shadermodels), Direct3D9, Direct3D10, Direct3D11 or OpenGL (and in both 32bit and 64bit). A highly advanced dynamic hooking system is reponsible for keeping
track of the APIs. And because ReShade as mentioned comes with its own shader transpiler, shaders written once work in all five.

Here is the post about the release:
http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?p=4982574#post4982574

Some new features include to hide the HUD in games that support that, and also add a Depth of Field effect

A user there posted screenshots of System Shock 2 with the DoF in effect:

This is great, it's got everything included in one single package without needing to use ENBconvertors, different SweetFX versions and the likes.
Will test it later tonight with some golden oldies^^

Do those injector still affect the HUD/text? I would like to have some injector that can do SMAA without HUD...Something like Gedosato but that can work with DX11 games as well.

I see it and it's stupid. Dof should only be generated in connectio to what player is looking at... Not hard set in the distance.

yes blurriness on text is still there and those screenies where taken when the injector was slightly messing up his autoinstaller is far from flawless T.T

and this injector can inject opengl dx8 oh and games that previously had issues with sweetfx (cough swtor to name one)

Yes, all generic injectors will do that unless they have game-specific injection. Most injectors just use the last render-path and then use their shaders on it.

With this tool, I´m guessing you dont need SweetFX @ RadeonPro on Windows 8.1 64 bits, right?

I'm on 8.1 64 bit and this new tool by itself works with most games I've tried. The only problem so far is with Ground Zeroes which refuses to launch until I delete the files.

Another alternative if you don't want to use RadeonPro is to download this version of SweetFX which works in every game for me:

ReShade has a hook to the depth buffer although it's a work in progress with D3D10 and 11 being a bit crash prone currently, anyways this should alleviate HUD issues and can also have other benefits like just the SMAA shader as described here. Smile
(Support is currently for D3D8, OpenGL 1.x to 3.x I think and DX9 up to DX11.x in both 32 and 64 bit.)

http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p=4982908&postcount=160
(I've enabled it and fine tuned some of the settings but I've yet to try it in a game, waiting for a updated beta that's less crash prone first, most other shaders were turned off as I'll mostly just use this for SMAA alone.)

Depth buffer access is turned off in known multiplayer games as this would otherwise be abused by various cheats such as wallhacks and the like.

idd beckman in my generall profile about half of the things are enabled atm i haven't had any crashes caused by reshade yet i've had one hangup in swtor but that was more related to reshade not liking sparsegrid supersampling in nv controll panel

currently the depth buffer msaa just has too many issues with too many games so i'll wait till that's more stable to enable that

going to test it out later with sins of a solar empire rebellion to see if the new stuff works there but doubt it

0.11.2 is out.

Quote:

0.11.2:

Added warning if hooked interface reference counts do not match the original ones
Fixed "IDirect3DDevice8::CopyRects" failing in too many cases. Fixes a good amount of texturing issues in D3D8 games.
Fixed crashes with some D3D8 games calling "IDirect3DDevice8::GetDepthStencilView" (more of a hotfix, but works for now)

0.11.1:

Fixed Origin overlay compatibility
Fixed no rendering in some OpenGL games using multiple device contexts pointing to the same window
Fixed D3D8 adapter mode enumeration always failing

0.11.0:

Replaced entire D3D10/11 VTable hooking with interface hooking (might improve compatibility).
Added compiler warning message when texture "MipLevel" property is set to "0".
Fixed D3D8 games using "IDirect3DDevice8::ValidateDevice" producing errors.
Fixed D3D8 error when "IDirect3DDevice8::SetVertexShader" is called with a vertex declaration only.
Fixed D3D8 to D3D9 vertex shader conversion failing under certain circumstances.
Fixed D3D8 wrapper causing memory failures because the "GetLevelDesc" method was returning the D3D9 and not the converted description.
Fixed possible (but unlikely) crashes at startup due to loader lock.
Fixed hooking manager sometimes hooking an already hooked function.
Updated stb_image to version 2.0
Removed support for uncommon image formats (PSD, TGA, HDR, PIC and PNM)

0.10.0:

First bublic beta release.

However currently the download link leads to 0.11.1 but it's easy to fix by just changing the version number in the URL. Smile

https://bit.ly/ReShadeBeta-0-11-2
https://bit.ly/ReShadeBeta-0-11-2-SweetFX
(The first one does not include the SweetFx shader suite.)

(And the MasterEffect shader suite which is an alternative to SweetFx. - http://www.mediafire.com/download/5u9vs0kuaeo36w5/MasterEffect+1.0.302+Public.7z )

How about Windows 8.1? Supposedly SweetFX doesn't work on that any more and you're forced into using RadeonPro and an ancient version of SweetFX shaders. Does this work on 8.1 without hassle?

Just an FYI why 0.11.2 download was removed

crosire wrote:

Because it comes with a major bug possibly crashing quite a few D3D10/11 titles on startup. A fixed version comes up shortly.

ReShade fixes that issue with the SweetFx injector and as such it's compatible with 8.1 although I'm only using the SMAA part of it currently, Far Cry 4, AC: Unity and Dragon Age Inquisition are the only games I've tried so far since I'm only using it for the AA benefit and have GeDoSaTo for DirectX 9 which offers the same in addition to downsampling.
(Not that many OpenGL games installed at the moment, some of the "HD" Final Fantasy games which I guess I could t ry it with to see if it works but it should.)

.
.
And that explains why the download URL was removed although it's working fine here without any crashes so far but waiting for the fixed version is probably better if this current release can cause crashes under D3D10 and D3D11.
