“As children, we fear the dark. Anything might be out there. The unknown troubles us. There are those who say we should not inquire too closely into who else might be living in that darkness.” We’re getting the first look at 3 Body Problem, the anticipated sci-fi drama series from Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, and Alexander Woo.
Set against the backdrop of China's Cultural Revolution, a secret military project sends signals into space to establish contact with aliens. An alien civilization on the brink of destruction captures the signal and plans to invade Earth. Meanwhile, on Earth, different camps start forming, planning to either welcome the superior beings and help them take over a world seen as corrupt, or to fight against the invasion.
Maybe D&D won't fårk it up this time, since all of the source material is already there

Read 2 of the 3 books, and can't remember most of it except for the "big idea" on how to win against... you know who.
Thing is, now I'd have to start from scratch for the 3rd book to make sense... right?
Also, didn't see any brown or black people on that chinese mob from the 60's, what's up with this shocking lack of diversity, netflix?!

It seems nanotech trailblazer Auggie Salazar (Baby Driver and Ambulance's Eiza González) is one of the next victims. She keeps seeing a sequence of numbers that appears to be counting down to something, which is consistent with the recent string of dead scientists. "Whatever it is, it's watching and listening," Wong's Da Shi says of the mysterious, unseen culprit.

Wang Miao (汪淼)
Nanomaterials researcher and academician from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is tasked with investigating the ETO as well as the recent spate of suicides among well-known scientists. Wang Miao becomes immersed in the virtual reality game "Three Body", through which he learns about Trisolaris.
Looks good though. I need to read the books again, including that 3rd one that I never did.

I'm at ep 20 currently. Tbh I wouldn't mind if there were less than 30 episodes.. Too much time wasted on things that could have been told in a much shorter time span.
The reviews for this trippy sci-fi tale, based on Liu Cixin’s novels, aren’t as kind as they were for that pirate adventure though. Following its premiere at SXSW, “3 Body Problem” has clocked up a relatively average 71% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Yeah it's good but it's also excruciatingly slow (and that's saying something because I usually like slower stuff), there are so many scenes that just drag for no reason at all.
