Anyone here have experience with how to activate/use/move older autocad versions

at work we have a bought license for 2012LT that two employees are supposed to be using ( they use it once a month or so ) , but these maggots of autocad now since last summer have just simply disabled their activation servers for any version below 2014 , u simply cant activate a new install ...

so the disc and license are useless and we cant activate it anymore so if the computer its running on dies, its byebye autocad u payed for ....

its obvsiously a work environment so i cant just go full YARRRR mode and try dodgy shit. Maybe there is a file and registry entries i can simply copy over to the other computer i want to put the software on , anyone any ideas or experience wth this ?

my last resort is to just clone this guys computer, move it onto another computer and then have anyone who needs to use autocad, login with remote desktop and use it that way, but i really dont want to do all this work cause some corporate maggot decided to just shitcan our license ....

a easy copy pasta solution or ideas would be appreciated

and dont tell me to just buy/use the new version for the second person cause the new versions saved files and edits wont open in the old one the first person is used to using ... FFFFFFuuuuck autocad omg

any alternatives for dwg files, let me know

Wish I could help, not sure who all uses it for work here but hopefully more than just us two or you might be out of luck. I used it a LOT both for work and home, until I switched to Solidworks at work at my last job, and either fusion 360 or sketchup at home (some shit I made didn't need full cad to make simple stuff).

But I remember getting 2012 AutoCAD on another machine a full days worth of googling, cursing at it, downloading iffy files from random websites that screamed 'virus' but luckily wasn't. And all that was for 2012 yarr version to get it fully working.

I gave up on moving the legit copy to a new machine after 2 days of trying. There may be a way, some CAD sage here knows. But even the older Yarr version of 2012 was f'ing rocket science to get working with file replacement, patching files, editing non text based files in hexedit to match some machine ID you needed to generate with one of those chip tune music playing code generators from back then, and all kinda of Rube Goldberg like steps to follow.
