If you're a fan of Netflix's The Witcher show, you're in luck - there's a brand-new series based on the universe created by author Andrzej Sapkowski on the way. Titled The Witcher: Blood Origin, the "spin-off" series has just been announced on Twitter, and will explore the world of the Witcher over a millennium before Geralt of Rivia's time.
As revealed by NXonNetflix and The Witcher show's Twitter channels, the upcoming show will be a "six-part live-action The Witcher spin-off series from Declan de Barra and Lauren Schmidt Hissrich", with Hissrich being the executive producer and showrunner of Netflix's The Witcher. "1200 years before Geralt of Rivia, the worlds of monsters, men, and elves merged into one, and the first Witcher came to be," the tweet gives as a synopsis.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
This is all so they can have a female protagonist. You heard it here first.
They already have that in The Witcher.. Not one but two women that takes up more screen time than Geralt, and i highly doubt it's going to get better in S2.
It fell short of a quality show that could have brought in new fans. Caville was great and it had a few cool moments, ultimately i think they jammed too many stories into the season and sadly tried to appease the "gamer" audience too much with magic battles and retarded action shit.
Season one should have just been the Striga story and world building, I'd see it as a guilty pleasure but was embarrassed every derpy action sequence having recommended the show to friends and family. It was like watching underworld or the resident evil movies.
I guess they didn't want to copy the earlier GOT formula (no idea why given how popular it was).

Not very progressive of you to tick just one box
Trans, faggot, midget etcetc.. not gonna happen, but i guess black lesbian can and is likely the case. Stronk femulz likes gurlz in the regressive world cause fuck men, amirite?
Lesbian sex gives birth to the first Witcher who is actually also a black lesbian but, surprise and shock, identifies as a white male.

You get this great IP with a big fan base and produce something completely unrelated like this trailer. Still someone must watch this kind of garbage or they wouldn't greenlight so many crap shows and spin-offs.
They must have butched the mainline series as well given Caville's exit.
This is like that new Resident Evil they tried. Full pass - maybe with the main show as well as it doesn't seem to follow the source material much either. I don't actually think I've ever watched a spin-off from a semi-good TV show past 1 episode, even ones i know will be good like "Better call Saul".
Who the fuck is watching these crap spin-off shows?!

It looks more like they are LARPing in witcher costumes.
