Is one life enough to have Kung Fu?
In Sifu, you play a young Kung-Fu student on a path of vengeance.
Running after shadows from his past, one against all, he will have to draw deep into his unique mastery of Pak-Mei Kung-Fu to prevail.
On the path of vengeance:
The hunt for your enemies will take you through the hidden corners of the city, from the gang-ridden suburbs to the cold hallways of the corporate towers. You have got one day, and countless enemies on your way. Time will be the price to pay.
Adaptation is the way:
Careful positioning and clever use of the environment to your advantage are key to your survival. Use everything at your disposal: throwable objects, makeshift weapons, windows and ledges... The odds are stacked against you, and you will be offered no mercy.
Training never ends:
Kung Fu is a path for the body and the mind. Learn from your errors, unlock unique skills, and find the strength within yourself to master the devastating techniques of Pak-Mei Kung-Fu.
Absolver was a great concept and I still go back to it every once in a while. Real shame the interest was lackluster and they just abandoned it after the first expansion. Really hoping for Absolver 2 after this one.
Game is really good and super fun, made it to the 2nd boss, he made me age 30 years and I died at 70
The difficulty is good, nice challenge, dont know what all the fucking journos are whining about and giving it lower scores due to its "extreme difficulty"
This game is fun as hell. Beat first boss. Aging/death system is very unique. Graphics look a lot better in game than screenshots, i do wish the character models were shaded better. Can tell it'll be a bit of a challenge to beat this one
what a weird game
its like if Absolver dev tried to do Karateka and added bunch of poorl explained systems on top
Also there is something weird with animations
every hit the character lands on an enemy ... there is some kind of weird microhitching
that makes my eyes uncomfortable and after few battles my head spin
So i take that ya are kind of forced to repeat the 1st level a few times to get some perma skill upgrades (Not sure about the green lil statues if they respawn or not, probably not) only to suffer n suffer perhaps the 1st boss, so you're much better ready for the 2nd one?
I mean, if ya kill the 1st boss it should not be avaliable to kill again, just the minions, right?
And being surrounded means death. I don't know if blocking those orange-like attacks lowers ya health some or increases too much the stability bar below. The game can be PRETTY UNFAIR
The good thing is that if you give up the death counter nor the age doesn't increase, meaning you have more chances... Or something

basically the posture bar was taken straight out of sekiro, you have to make sure it doesnt fill completely or your guard will break and the enemies will have their way with your butt.
if you just hold down guard, the posture will keep filling up faster, if you use counters, as in time the guard press, then it will fill up less.
If you evade attacks by holding guard button and pressing into a direction in time, then you recover posture.
-Repeating the 1st level means like beginning the game from zero, without accumulating skills etc. You gotta be a frigging perfectionist in this game
-2nd level meh...Pretty unfair. Oh yeah, "get good" but c'mon, you're blocking, dodging, but nothing of profit happens. Small spaces and already getting ya ass kicked no matter how many times you press the block button or even dodge
-The bad thing is that you must die to age up, be stronger and weaker, and use the EXP points to learn skills until ya get a permanent one (No matter how long your not-being-touched streak goes, the exp you get is always the same (depending of the enemy)
-But reaching a certain age gets you a full game over and must start from the beginning to get even better, but wasting a ton of time
Sorry, but got better things to do

But you dont start the whole game anew, you can continue from the last level, but starting with the age you first reached it at. You dont have to be a perfectionist, I finished first level at age 26 while messing up alot of times. Its a fair game, just needs a little focus and patience.
Trust me when i say i gave the game another try after knowing that (after loads of googling), if you die, you can keep the buy counter from the skills ya tried to use/keep, so reaching the permanent one is more tolerant to get (or whatever the word is)
I've had the "up up triangle" and "Run then triangle" skills permanently, but even then they didn't pushed everone backwards with the first one and sure, the 2nd one is harder to achieve on stronger enemies than the normal ones, not even increased their "balance bar".
The thing with the game is that it makes ya believe that holding L1+left/right makes ya dodge punches from the contrary directions of such, while pressing down instead just does the job (The up/down confusion when it comes to ground sliding kicks is a pain to react most of the times)
I finished the 1st real level on the 1st try and just died ONCE against the final boss of it. It feels like, once ya beat the 1st level and go back, everybody has become a bitch to beat.. I was lucky to reach level 2 at AGE 21 (Only to be ass kicked either earlier or at it's final boss like 3 times like "NOPE, MY SLIDING KICK/STAFF STARTS DIFFERENT BUT IT'S FAST AS FUCK!!")
Shortcuts?...Sure, but then, i think, you'd skip the SHRINES that allows ya those perma-passive skills (Sadly you must remember wich ones ya had or you'll perhaps overwrite it WRONG), along some exp to get the remaining skills.
It's like playing those games a la UNTIL DAWN. You can go back, but if shit happens you'll overwrite it for worse". Sure you could re-do the level but it's a CHORE
The issue with the game is the DIFFICULTY SPIKE that starts at the "THE CLUB" level (2) is way too much... Sure, again, get good, but god dammit, the devs wanted to make it hard INDEED...

I dont feel level 2 is that much more difficult than 1 mob wise, apart from a few enemies before the boss.
The second boss overall isnt very hard either, except for one annoying sweep move thats not telegraphed long enough and very difficult to react to in time, but that move alone can cost you several years so yea.
the 3rd stage mob-wise wasnt very tough either but the boss is, will be stuck here for a while.
How dare they! White people making a game about Asians!
make a game about a white guy who knows kung fu out to avenge his family by kung fuing his way to justice, and then these people will be whining about why it's a white guy and not some asian dude
clutching at straws for something to complain about i guess
After 7 recording tries i've beated the 2nd level, but at a high cost and, ofcoure, Stage 3 was like "Oh hi, old lady! *DEAD*"

I was getting my shit pushed in until i realized how dodging works (hold L1 and flick analog stick) whereas i was trying to parry everything before. Either im dense or the tutorial explained that dodge as a means to avoid grab attacks instead of basically all attacks, and if you don't do it you aren't getting past the 2nd boss.
Yea that's exactly how I understood it too and only used it for sweep attacks and grabs, the tutorial was simply shit. I was using the evade/sprint button whenever my posture gauge got too full and it was recovering so slowly, then the 2nd boss forced me to realize how to actually evade and restore big chunks of the gauge that way, it's definitely a game changer.

Enjoyed your playing! You were actually pretty good (until the bosses kicked your ass ). I never followed this game, but the very close insta dodges seem to be essential to the game and... just seem to make you a ghost for a few frames to avoid damage. Am not sure if I'm the biggest fan of that. Also how can the animations be so good and bad at the same time?
Finally, a positive comment. Yeah, the devs OP'd them out like "You had fun?.. Try it now..."
In the end i've watched the 3 endings online and called it a day. There are better things to do while waiting for ELDEN RING and GRAN TURISMO 7 instead of raging for unfairness

^ It's ok, there there. Not every game is made for everyone.
I have a feeling this game will spawn a lot of beat em ups that copy its combat system, very addictive. Fighting off mobs in this game is the most fun i've had since Streets of Rage.
The bosses on the other hand are pretty lame. All the fun and freedom you have in taking down those mobs goes out the window.

Yea sorry but the game is not unfair at all, when you apply the correct mechanics then there is plenty of wiggle room for mistakes and you can still beat everything at a young age with some practice.
The bosses arent even really hard once you figure out their moveset, you just have to focus more on evading than parrying in those fights, all of the 2nd boss' attacks for exmaple are so easy to dodge, he literally has a single attack, the sweep one, where you have to focus on the direction of your dodge, but even in that case you can just make it easy on yourself and just guard it, take the little posture damage and evade the next attacks.
3rd boss is like lol with weapon catch skill, 4th boss you just have to get close and then its all pretty simple.
I think the problem is that ppl try to parry every single attack, while this works with the weakest enemies, the tougher ones have to be dodged more.
