it says early access. in b4 it gets 1 year epic early access exclusivity.
hades was a nice game but this one seems not that much different besides the story which imo would be dissapointing. I'd like some innovation instead of just more of the same.
How about a new setting? Talk about playing it safe for the moneyz
kinda how I was feeling. I love the devs, I love their games, I love that every new game came out they got better but a whole different style. I would have expected them make something new again.
But hey, maybe now that Hades brought in so much money they'll be able to take on more than 1 project? Maybe this will bring in more then the next project will be even bigger? Hopes and dreams.
Yeah, it's disappointing they did not go for a new setting. Also, most of the voice acting sounds horrendous in this trailer, but maybe that's just me.
Anyone try out the playtest release floating around?

This game desperately needed more randomization and branching paths... look at Dead Cells for example.. lot more variety. Playing the same bosses and levels in order over and over again, yeah i get that's the point of the game but it gets old. Especially that annoying Hydra boss.
Maxed out the technical test (it lets you beat the Stage 1 boss 5 times before it blocks that save file from doing any more runs).
It was great. The cadence with the weapons is a tad different than the original Hades, as each of your three attacks now either has either a tap, or tap and hold attack, both of which yield radically different results (especially with the starter witch staff). Once you get mixing those up into muscle memory, combat feels great. Apart from that, the gradually unlocking conversations/mechanics/rewards are all there, and it's just as addicting and gratifying as the original was.
If you wanted something different you'll be disappointed, but if you loved the combat and progression of the original, it's more of the same, with a new cast of characters and story.

Been a while since I watched any of his stuff - when did that guy sell himself out to Gamespot, of all places?

Don't know if related. But one of the developers used to work for gamespot. It's the one the left, last video, the one with a grin.
He did the oblivion video review.
Yea, Greg Kasavin - I remember him as the bald headed Asian dude from Gamespot.
So I did a little digging - apparently all the original Honest Game Trailers stuff was owned by an entity called SMOSH. Roughly 5 years ago, something (fuck knows what) happened, and all the videos were de-listed on SMOSH and re-listed on Fandom (in addition to his channel). Apparently the guy was always a shill, he just switched sugar-daddies.
