Hey I'm looking at some mid-range Notebooks and I'm down to 3 iGPU versions:
- AMD Radeon Graphics (iGPU), 7CU/448SP, 1.80GHz, "GCN 5.1" (Lucienne/Vega)
- Intel Iris Xe Graphics (iGPU), 80EU/640SP, 1.30GHz, "Gen 12.1" (Tiger Lake GT2)
- Intel UHD Graphics (iGPU), 64EU/512SP, 1.10GHz, "Gen 12.2" (Alder Lake GT2)
Any idea how they compare to each other?
Gaming is not really a priority at all but since they're all in the similar price range I'd like to go with the best iGPU of those three.

Wish I could help, but igpu isnt something I keep an ear to the ground on.
Last I heard the AMD ones are not bad, and squeak out ahead of the intel ones. But that info is dated by a couple years, so I would double check to see if it still holds true.

Whatever discrete graphics you choose for a laptop, it will cause unpleasant heating and noise no matter what. I've yet to see a model where it doesn't look that way, even for dedicated "gaming" laptops. Headphones and external keyboard will cover it up of course, but it's still shitty way to play anything.
Iris Xe should be fast enough, not just because of execution units but due to large amount of superfast local cache which regular UHD is lacking. Plus, total amount of heating and noise is significantly lower compared to discrete graphics.
EDIT: To be more clear, in Intel laptops for at least four generations, discrete graphics is passed through Intel iGPU, meaning that iGPU ultimatelly drives the display while discrete chip serves only as 3D accelerator activated on demand (similar to 3Dfx Voodoo 25 years ago). But when discrete chip kicks in, the shitshow begins. Technically, you can force Windows to use iGPU for specific or all programs and keep heating and noise at minimum, but at least for me it's a hassle.

Thanks!
Checked some benchmarks in the meantime, looks like the AMD Lucienne (3.2 TFLOPS) slightly beats the Iris Xe (2.8 TFLOPS) in most applications, in a few it is the other way around. But overall they are close, with a small lead for AMD.
Could also get a dedicated RTX 3050 Ti with 144Hz display which is significantly faster but it is +200€ more expensive, not sure if its worth it, since it is not really for gaming and price is very important.
Gonna wait for Black Friday deals and choose the notebook with best price/performance ratio.
