A man said to the universe: “Sir, I exist!”
“However,” replied the universe, "The fact has not created in me a sense of obligation.”

For every complex problem, there is a solution which is clear, simple, and wrong.

I have a beef with this quote! If the solution is wrong then it was never a solution in the first place!

Something can fix a situation in the worst way possible.
For hand and elbow pain having your arm removed works and is straightforward and easy to grasp how it would solve the problem, vs the alternative option of diagnosis of the issue if its nerve, arthritis, or internal injury and addressing it with nuanced and harder to grasp internal medicine and intangible joint therapy you cannot initially 'see' instant results of to save the arm.
Removing the whole arm is the wrong solution, that does solve the problem.

"We had even bigger problems yet we didn't solve them."
Alan Ford (a satirical Italian comic popular in former Yugoslavia)
(I use this a lot at work when younger colleagues start panicking about "important" stuff)

um...to be that guy again, sorry wolf
Words do die, there is millions of words from past languages we dont know what they are, most we don't even know existed. And up to even around 100 years ago in english that are dead and no one uses or says anymore or knows what they mean unless you are part of a group of people that study very esoteric words.

"Beware the irrational, however seductive.
Shun the 'transcendent' and all who invite you to subordinate or annihilate yourself.
Distrust compassion; prefer dignity for yourself and others.
Don't be afraid to be thought arrogant or selfish.
Picture all experts as if they were mammals.
Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity.
Seek out argument and disputation for their own sake; the grave will supply plenty of time for silence. Suspect your own motives, and all excuses.
Do not live for others any more than you would expect others to live for you."
- Christopher Hitchens
"Don't be a cunt"
- Ricky Gervais

Reminds me of: "Anger is the answer of a man that is not able to think of any other options"
Dunno if its a famous quote, but a humorous one (for the situation) my grandfather told me when my dad was cursing and threw a socket wrench working on his truck once.
And to tie into that one my dads famous one for tools/items/bolts/saw/screwdriver that was giving him trouble: "Goddamn motherfucking piece of shit" (then...YEET into the woods near our house). Always those exact words.
If anyone is interested and wants to clean them up, there is probably over time a whole 96 piece set of craftsman wrenches out there to find..lol
