Here is a resurrection of a DC character worth getting excited over. Warner Bros will develop another installment of the 2005 supernatural thriller Constantine, and the studio is re-teaming star Keanu Reeves and director Francis Lawrence, who made his helming debut on the original.
Akiva Goldsman will write the screenplay and produce the project through his Weed Road Pictures, alongside Bad Robot’s J.J. Abrams and Hannah Minghella.
It is a shame we never got that Justice League Dark film from Del Toro as Ryan was going to be Constantine in it and at the time I think Del Toro would have done a good job with the characters and setting. It will be interesting to see since now that WB canceled that show reboot for HBO if it means we might get Ryan's Constantine in Sandman season 2 if it gets another season.

We'll see. Gaiman created Lady Joanna Constantine as the ancestor. For some reason the show used Joanna Constantine in modern day instead of using John Constantine who was in The Sandman comics. Since the character was changed for S1 of this show we may not get John in any subsequent season.

The change was probably due to HBO owning the rights to John for their rebooted TV show JJ Abrams was trying to do but maybe now that it has been canned, Sandman can use the character again if it does get a season 2. But then again with the new movie announced, maybe John would be off the table again for Sandman as not to confuse people as to why one John is an English guy with blonde hair and the other is Keanu Reeves.
