I dislike companies that state "Shipping within 2 days of ordering" to find out they mean they generate a fedex/ups shipping LABEL within 2-3 days so you can check the tracking for the next week to see it still 'label generated' as the status.

Bought a shapeoko 4 CNC router for garage a week ago. Still not shipped, but at least I can SEE on the tracking it's not shipped I guess. Rolling Eyes
Wrote support to see if the 2 day shipping I paid for was applicable a week later. They stated "We did generate your shipping info, it was done in 24 hours after order. It will be at your house in 2 days after we get it out of our warehouse."

Good thing I paid extra for 2 day shipping. So it can be 2 weeks or a month before the 2 day shipping they claim counts...

I suppose its semantics of actual shipping time, vs time to get it TO the shipper. But how would you interpret this statement?
Id take it as a face value of: It leaves their place within 2 days, then however long shipping it actually takes.
And not: We will have a shipping label made laying around within 2 days. And eventually get around to actually shipping it.

Yeah it's annoying, it think it's mostly being used so they can be divisive with the "in stock" claim. In reality it's not but they can still register the package so to the customer it will look like they have the item and it was quickly packaged, when in fact they have to order it, package it..

you get the feeling they're also thinking that once registered the customer will think it's up the the post office and not the company, which obviously isn't true.

I feel like in the last 2'ish years this has gotten worse. Make sure you review the store and tell people about the actual shipping time..

Yeah, I would expect it to leave their place within 2 days.
I had a weird experience with ordering stuff this (last) week as well.
I've ordered two outdoor pots on Monday that were supposed to be shipped (not only sent, but delivered to me) within 2 days.
They had 4 separate offers form them, each for a different color mentioned in the title and depicted on the images. On Friday I asked them what's up with my package - I got a response that I did not pick a color, which I was supposed to enter as a comment to the transaction so it takes longer. Apparently, it was written in the offer, single line among like 2-3 pages worth of text and pictures...

That said, the image you had in your post only says they're "expecting" it to ship within 2 days of ordering, aka:
"We'll ship it when we can, fuck off if you don't like it.".

Very true, but I think the context most people take it as 'expected' means average and in good faith usually true.

By the other merit I could list: Expected to ship in an hour after order.
And just ship it 3 weeks later stating: Oh I EXPECT it to, it never does. But I as the shipping manager expect them to get it out within an unreasonable hour timeframe. IN reality regardless of what I expect, it takes 3 weeks.

@vurt Yep.
And I dont think its all on thier shoulders. The decision to be slightly exaggerating is on their shoulders. But the reason they feel pressure to is not. Amazon and all them making 1 day shipping so popular, its hard not to feel a need to at least appear to try to compete. But still feel it's not right regardless of the pressure to, you can choose to be honest even if it costs you a few sales. As the sales you loose from being honest probably is equal to the ones you lose from not being, by word of mouth. As now I would recommend anyone skip directly from vendor and get one off amazon if they want it quick Razz

I would be happy with 3 weeks, if they just TOLD me it was 3 weeks. I expected it in here 2-3 days. So took all my time after work one day rearranging the garage, built a stand for it, ran power. To now just have an empty place I rushed to set up for it. When I could have done it on a weekend.

Around 2 weeks of a hospital stay.
Or in more current terms, 3 tanks of gas.

Was $2,779.80 total with all the addons: the router, bit setting addon, clamps addon, and starter bit kit.
Got the XL one of this:

ONE day overnight stay can be more in a 'main' hospital'. 2 weeks can get up the the price of a newish nice used car Razz
