NVidia leak ignites fresh “Switch Pro” rumors, which have more legs than last year’s
Quote:
Social Media networks are on fire with rumors spreading fast around the Nintendo Switch 2, or Switch Pro, after NVidia suffered a massive hack late last week.
NVidia hacked, DLSS Source code leaked
Hacking group LAPSUS$ allegedly hacked into NVidia’s corporate systems, and siphoned 1TB of data, including future Hardware information, employee credentials and information, as well as software source code, in particular the source code for their DLSS driver.
As proof, the group behind the hack have already leaked what seems to be the names of upcoming GPUs, and, more importantly, the source code for NVidia’s DLSS tech drivers.
A lot of people have been looking into the leaked source code, which appears to be legit.
DLSS Source code has references to “nvn2”, API for a potential Switch Pro
Nintendo scene dev and veteran NWPlayer123 in particular unearthed references to nvn2, probably the API codename for a new generation of Nintendo Switch (the API for the current Switch models is nvn). Whether you want to call that a Switch Pro, or a Switch 2, is semantics at this point.
The drivers for that console would be providing ray-tracing and DLSS2.2 support. (Which does not necessarily mean that the console would use that functionality, but one can be hopeful).
The hacker also confirmed the leaked source files seem legit, as they reference the T234/T239 chipsets that Switch hackers had been talking about since last year.
A Switch Pro being in the works right now, for a release next year or 2024, sounds a bit more probable than last year’s rumors of a “Switch Pro” (these rumors, fueled by some mainstream media such as Bloomberg, turned out to be quite inaccurate, as the OLED was just an incremental upgrade of the original switch, not a Switch Pro).
Therefore, unlike last year’s, it seems these rumors have legs.
Switch pro is already out.
399 American for 64gb version. You can install your own m.2 on it for more storage.
Plays all current switch games at 60fps. Also plays GameCube games too. And some Wii and WiiU games as well. Not a bad product.

Haha the steam thing? Anyone got one? Looks heavy / bulky...
must be releasing like nov-dec?? i mean otherwise we'd likely see some games by now + how it can improve older games (FPS/image), but there's nothing + only shows render of it.
They might surprise us with a new IP though. I'm hoping for Xenoblade as i know Zelda is off the table... Or is it? Didn't they finish ToTK in like 2022 and tbf the whole game was reusing assets.

Is that a new mariokart game they show btw?
They have to announce the Switch 2 before games can be announced.
And they had to wait as long as possible with the switch 2 announcement cause it will hurt Switch sales.
They will release it before july i think.
The console will sell anyway, the upgrade alone is worth it since it's backwards competible. Exclusives are not needed to sell the thing.
