“Under the Banner of Heaven” is an original limited series inspired by the true crime bestseller by Jon Krakauer, which follows the events that led to the 1984 murder of Brenda Wright Lafferty and her baby daughter in a suburb in the Salt Lake Valley, Utah. As Detective Jeb Pyre investigates events that transpired within the Lafferty family, he uncovers buried truths about the origins of the LDS religion and the violent consequences of unyielding faith. What Pyre, a devout Mormon, unearths leads him to question his own faith.
Yeah even though I like the premise I probably won't watch it. I''m already struggling to find the time to watch the top-tier quality shows like Better Call Saul and Ozark.
Finished it yesterday. It was way longer than it needed to be. In the grand scheme of things, barely anything happened, there was no need for 8 episodes
It was semi-interesting as I knew nothing of Mormons, but overall fairly average
I think there are contractual reasons to have a minimum number of episodes. I think compensation is different for cast and crew if it’s a 6 episode show vs 8+.
