Not anymore. They realized how gamers behave between Crysis 1 and 2 remastered. They said in an interview before Crysis 2 remastered launched, gamers want to have the illusion that they're maxing out everything, but the game also runs very well. So for Crysis 2 and 3 there wasnt a "can it run crysis" option. So instead they gutted the graphical quality so it runs well on everything. Then there's the impression that the game is "optimized".
I doubt they're gonna push this aspect again as they did in the past.
The Dying Light devs did the same thing when the first game launched. The game's draw distance slider at the lowest setting was higher than what consoles had. Set at lowest possible in PC. And went X times higher at mid or max settings. The dev reduced the maximum quality to 50% in a patch because people said its not well "optimized".

Would love to see them push the boundaries again but my guess is it'll be Crysis for consoles much like 2 and 3 were.

If it’s not going to be for/on consoles there is no point in making it at all.

If it’s not going to be for/on consoles there is no point in making it at all. |
Why would there be no point if the game is not on consoles ?

Got the 3rd one for cheap in one of the Origin offers. Is it any good as SP? First one was excellent. Worth the install?

Yeah it's better than the 2nd game but not as good as warhead and the first half or 2/3 of the original.

It's difficult to have any expectations for a company that hasn't made a good single-player game since 2008. The same one that released a Crysis Remaster shamefully based on the Xbox 360 version à la Pimp my Orly, that alone was enough to remind us (once again) of their level of ineptitude and the fact that their priorities lie elsewhere.

Ever since they hired a COD veteran to become the Hunt Showdown brand manager the game has gone downhill.
This article makes it clear that Hunt is the last product that is making money for them.
If they fuck this up it will be game over.
