I have the oq2, good gaming pc and gt force driving wheel from years ago that still works well.
Seeing how V.R is getting good.
What are the best accessories to look out for?
Upcoming/in development or out now?
There should be some good stuff to out for as i will be buying stuff myself.
What is everyone looking forward to seeing?

I'm fine the way it is currently. More games needed.

There is Alyx and then all the others which are somewhat average.

I got the reverb g2, using the valve knuckles controllers it. The ones that come with it are meh..but all the others are to me after using the knuckles. They spoiled me when I had the Index.

Accessories I have (not really VR specific, but use them with it): A g27 steering wheel and Logitech x52 HOTAS.

Wants: MAYBE a set of some prescription headset lenses. But my eyesight isn't so bad I need them..juuust bad enough to need glasses (a slight astigmatism just bad enough to be annoying), so can't justify paying $120 for some len replacements.
Cant think of any other accessories out now I could want myself. Maybe some good real hand tracking ones, so no controllers at all, once they actually become a viable thing.

For you, might be up your alley..there is always these Very Happy (Do NOT open at work...):

Cable management to get the cable to the ceiling. Worth it.

Is the Oculus Quest 2 workable for PC gaming? Like the virtual desktop etc? Or are there better option for the same money?

yes, you get around 50ms latency but i can't say i notice it. i use virtual desktop.

@Ankh cool. i throw mine under the bed where its not seen lol.

Wireless is definitely the way to go if you want complete peace of mind. I almost toppled my PC Tower once by pulling the cable too far Laughing and the cable can get in the way and be really annoying/hindering to your movement.
The default strap on the Q2 is complete ass but instead of buying a fancy one I suggest just putting on a beanie instead.

But this forums intellectuals were kicking and screaming years ago already for everyone saying there isn't currently enough games to warrant a expansive VR purchase. Pretty funny.

Id love to go wireless if they could make one with the resolution of the G2 and the built in headset. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
But seems its not there yet, or the crossover of high end VR users willing to accept the wireless latency (while pretty much nothing..master race going to smug master race 12ms 'better' than 50-100ms) is too small to create a market for it.

IF valve made an Index 2, or something, that was wireless with the res, the headphones, and I could use my knuckle controllers with it. My G2 would be passed on to someone else in a heartbeat.
But honestly for me, the only hassle with the cord for me is rolling it up each time..thats a tedious 'first world' problem Laughing

That's what I'm saying, the cable comes with too many annoyances and hazards that it makes the slight drop in resolution really not a big deal compared to the freedom of wireless.
imo it doesn't really look that bad and the latency isn't noticeable as long as you keep the bitrate reasonable. I don't know how it affects fast games like beat saber (I never played it) but in alyx and boneworks I did not encounter any latency caused game ruining bullshit. So if one can get over their "pixel by pixel" elitism it's actually hard to go back to wired. I cannot imagine playing blade & Sorcery or anything with melee combat with a wire. There's gonna be some expensive mistakes.

The resolution is not that good in Quest 2 to begin with, the small compression you get to the image is hardly noticiable when wireless mode.

The default resolution was fucking pixelated garbage but it's got a lot clearer when I put it at x1.3+ in the Occulus settings on PC. I should've done this a lot earlier Laughing but it does affect battery life.

I wouldnt call it elitism, at least not for everyone. I myself can clearly see a huge difference in quality for screen door or pixel spacing/arrangement awareness and such between them. But I also play a lot of games where it is more noticeable. MS flight sim, project cars, etc where distant objects and fine detail on gauges is night and day. Even going from Index to G2 I saw a small, but satisfying, difference in such things.

But I do admit in most popular VR games like beat saber, gorn, job simulator, superhot it's a barely noticeable the difference but they are made with the intent/style where fine detail isnt done to be noticable.
