Visual Fidelity: For a high-fidelity visual experience, PS VR2 offers 4K HDR, 110-degree field of view, and foveated rendering. With an OLED display, players can expect a display resolution of 2000×2040 per eye and smooth frame rates of 90/120Hz.
Headset-based Controller Tracking: With inside-out tracking, PS VR2 tracks you and your controller through integrated cameras embedded in the VR headset. Your movements and the direction you look at are reflected in-game without the need for an external camera.
New Sensory Features: PS VR2 Sense Technology combines eye tracking, headset feedback, 3D Audio, and the innovative PS VR2 Sense controller to create an incredibly deep feeling of immersion. Headset feedback is a new sensory feature that amplifies the sensations of in-game actions from the player. It’s created by a single built-in motor with vibrations that add an intelligent tactile element, bringing players closer to the gameplay experience. For example, gamers can feel a character’s elevated pulse during tense moments, the rush of objects passing close to the character’s head, or the thrust of a vehicle as the character speeds forward. Additionally, PS5’s Tempest 3D AudioTech makes sounds in the player’s surroundings come alive, adding to this new level of immersion.
Eye Tracking: With eye tracking, PS VR2 detects the motion of your eyes, so a simple look in a specific direction can create an additional input for the game character. This allows players to interact more intuitively in new and lifelike ways, allowing for a heightened emotional response and enhanced expression that provide a new level of realism in gaming.
First announced game is Horizon: Call of the Mountain.

While 4K is obviously the only right thing to do in regards of resolution, I wonder how the PS5 wants to achieve 90 fps for true 4K.
Don't get me wrong, the PS5 is a powerhouse (as a console at least), but to push those amount of frames developers will need to significantly scale back on the assets and similar. So most likely similar to the PS4, where PSVR games were mostly on PS3 level, games on PS5VR will look like PS4 games. This is NOT criticism or a bad thing, just to get expectations in place that there won't be any groundbreaking graphics on this piece.

While I consider this to be a very nice feature to have, I still think that it will be solely for PS system, with their own games - whilist the Quest 2 is standalone, no wires and can play yarred games

No one is expecting VR games to look as good as non VR games. Quest 2 is 120Hz, 4K. I bet the performance of PS5 is 20x as powerful. Quest 2 outsells latest xbox.. they shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Foveated rendering should in theory lessen the strain on the system.
The PSVR2 will launch on 22nd February 2023 and cost £530. In the US, that's $550. In Europe, that's €600. For that price you'll get a PSVR2 headset and its controllers, plus a pair of stereo headphones.
A pricier bundle will pack-in the PSVR2 launch title Horizon Call of the Mountain. That costs £570, $600, or €650.
Separately, you can pay £40, $50 or €50 extra for the PSVR2's controller charging dock, which allows you to charge your controllers without connecting them to your PS5.
Altogether, this means you'll pay £610 for the PlayStation VR2, a game and its dock.
Pre-orders for the PlayStation VR2 will only be available to players in the UK, US, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg from the PlayStation Direct starting on 15th November, though you can register for a pre-order today.
PlayStation has cautioned that these will then be shipped "throughout the week of launch" - so you may not get one exactly on release day.
Supermassive have a sequel to the Rush of Blood PSVR1 game
I love the tech, but don't love the price, and also have doubts about the faff of it all and how much use it would actually get were it in my home compared to the lazy option of the couch and some snacks. I remember the wheel set-up I had a couple of years back and how I ended up just grabbing the controller most of the time. But all the above is moot for me anyway, because a few minutes in these environments would put me out of action for hours, with hangover levels of nausea. We're talking:
I'm one of the percentage where you don't 'build up resistance' to it either. I can't even play some first person games without feeling sick ffs. It kind of sucks, but then again you don't miss what you can't enjoy.
got mine and tried it out on some GT7 online races
setup was quick and worked well. it's actually kind of fun scanning your room
excellent image quality for a VR headset, looks almost like on my OLED TV, no screen door effect.
edges are still a bit blurry, it's not perfect, but it's not a problem imo and better than most.
immediately noticed the enhanced feel of the car where you notice a little sliding and stuff way more. new grand valley track has some parts where the car is tilted to the side and it feels great
mirrors work great too and everything is nice and clear
very comfortable to wear too once you got the right position down and at least for me, zero eye strain, which I usually do get in my other VR headsets after a while. (played about an hour straight with this and felt nothing uncomfortable)
noticed one stuck pixel, a green one in the lower right, but it's only slightly visible to one eye when you happen to look in that direction while the screen is black. didn't bother me.
tried out a short bloodborne session on the VR 2D screen mode and that looked pretty great too.
I saw a thread on reddit where someone was like 'the vr screen mode for 2d games is complete trash!" claiming it was so blurry it ruined it completely, but I didn't see it. it looked very good, again close to my OLED TV and I had no problem reading the amount of souls or blood vials in the corners and stuff or the UI in general.
will try out horizon this weekend and maybe some other stuff.
if hackers can get this working on SteamVR this will the THE headset to get imo. outstanding for the price.

jesus man I only just got it and played for an hour and wanted to post my first impressions.
should I have packed it up and sent it back? I have 2 years to do that if it doesn't disappear.
so please tell me what other problems I should be having so I can stop enjoying this piece of shit

thats what i would have done, instantly send it back. one dead/stuck pixel is no case for warranty, you don't have two years to send it back, in the best case its 14-30 days.
otherwise you will have to live with it, it's ok if you can, it's not my money.

Probably because they went with fresnel lenses instead of pancake lenses. Even the PICO 4 has those.
Real bummer, the tech is readily available and they went for the old tech that makes the edges blurry and the sweetspot small
Guess gotta wait for PSVR3 for that
To my understanding these pancake lenses impede the light too much so as to not be suitable for OLED screen (yet)
I assume the latest and greatest could do it as brightness for oleds has been improving but then we got a cost and/or production problem..
maybe it could have been done with the raised brightness shit where the OLED is never truly black but I wouldn't want that either...
as usual, every headset comes with shortcomings still.

As much as I want the PSVR2 I kinda told myself that I’ll get one when Half-Life Alyx gets announced
yeah can't hurt to wait! barely any good content on it right now anyway.
if it wasn't for GT7 which I play regularly and will be playing for a long time yet I wouldn't have bought it either.

I got 4 weeks to return it to the store, just checked.
I've seen pixels get unstuck before, so I will give it some time.

I have bought this also. I have a quest 2 for comparions.
Technically this beats Quest 2 in all areas. (yes, it has a cable, but the pro of the cable is a lot higher quality compression thant Quest 2, which always looks washed out).
The standout feature of the headset for me is comfort. With quest 2 I always get tired of wearint if very fast. PS VR2 is lighter, a lot better balanced, no pressure on front of the face and around the eyes, it also blocks all light.
The OLED screen is great, lot brighter, lot more colorful than quest 2, and th sweet spot is in fact quite large.
HDR is also almost a game changer, but it doesn't stack up to a proper OLED TV.
Overall, this is stellar tech for this price imho.
