I just learned, that I will not pay for seating reservations, because, more likely than not, they will be invalidated for one reason or another
Unfortunately I hate public transport in any case though - i like my solitude in car with my music
Having to pay extra for the seating reservation is purely a way to pick your pocket. In the early 90'ies we got seats as part of the train ticket. Then they added this "seating reservation" fee. I wouldn't be surprised if local buses will try to sneak that in as well as some point.
It's become ubiquitous in the train transportation business and is so cynical.
Nationale Spoorwegen? What is the dutch word for sports car?
@Frant
I never though about it. Does that issue not also stem from overbooking trains?
I think one major issue of the Deutsche Bahn, that their lines serve people and goods, with goods taking priority, and their planning can collide for some reason. Unfortunately I can't remember the details anymore. It was pretty silly though
