A different type of school is set to begin session this Fall when Prime Video unleashes “Gen V,” a brand new spinoff series set in the world of Prime’s hit series “The Boys.“
Amazon’s official description for the upcoming spinoff series continues, “It’s part college show, part Hunger Games–with all the heart, satire, and raunch of The Boys.”
Well I watched half of the first episode, then I got impatient and skipped throught the rest. Didn't bother with eps 2 and 3, I don't like the cast except Clancy Brown (and he's only in the first ep), there is no recognizable plot that's worth paying attention to and I'm especially not interestet watching a bunch of teenagers making one collossally bad decision after another on their way to becoming social media influencers...
So just a clone of Xavier's school for the gifted, dressed up in The Boys characters and updated for current age teen angst?

Can't have that male gaze on the whamen of the show you know. Women are more than sexual objects for disgusting men to leer at. The fem gaze on men is alright though as it shows strong female sexuality, which is to be praised since men have shamed women for having sexual desires
Show could do less with the teen drama but I guess it is about young supes, there's some little tidbits that advance the plot but most is teen drama filler. The boys is awesome but this thing is way too watered down, don't relate or like any of the characters unlike the main show.
"Second monitor show". It wasn't utterly bad but it lacked interesting characters, everyone was unlikable (on purpose or not, dunno). Overall mediocre.

seeing how this continues directly into the boys season 4 i gave it a chance and yeah was kinda mediocre but not boring. it def started great but then forgot about character development. it had its moments, pretty much an extension of the boys without those characters
Binged this shit this week in preparation for the new season of the main show, and after a few eps I thought my eyes would get stuck behind my forehead from the constant rolling, but I admit that it got much better for the last 2-3 episodes of the season.
Here's hoping that for S2 they will have less teenage drama and "way of talking" and more action and plot advancement.
