Exactly what it says on the tin, the cheapest also as my friend is looking for one, he will be playing Cyber Punk (yes I know) and other recent games so wants a decent fps as he has a 1080p 144hz monitor so I thought I'd ask the pro's here Very Happy

Thanks

Does he want Raytracing ? Or can he live with settings on low ?

No Clue what the rest of the System is. Deliver some more infos.

2080 without Raytracing @ 1080p and DLSS averages at 90-100fps @ max details.

Getting one isnt cheap these days.

And what settings is he aiming for ?

RTX on or off ?

Just wanna play the game or get the the full package with everything cranked ?

Id say, minimum he needs a 2070/3060 (ti) to have somewhat decent fps @ Medium to High settings and a 3080 (ti) to get the full experience.

I for example get around 80fps @ 3440x1440 with everything max + RT & DLSS.

So all in all, there is no cheap solution with current marketprices, 2070 are only used to get and scalped and finding a 3060 (ti) will cost you also atleast 600€ if you can find one.

I have a 2060 Super and find it sufficient for 1080p gaming. You won't hit 144hz in those games, but with a VRR monitor that is not so important. Most games give me 60+ fps. Of course a 3060 would be way better, but I have no idea about availability or prices.

There is a list of Raytracing capable Games, but beware that Raytracing is not a feature you gonna need. IMHO its nice to have but not needed.

@bringiton: Availablity has gotten way better, here in Germany you can buy 3060 and ti`s starting at around 600€ and up to 750€. Glad i got my 3080 from EVGA at a bit over 900€.
