not really, humanity blabla is already so milked by walking dead ...
Well, they did it with zombies and copied some of the fallout post-apocalyptic human drama nonsense which made TWD so boring for me. They really kicked that dead zombie horse beyond reason. Most of us are dead tired of zombies at this point. Besides, the zombies weren't a common enemy that humanity could get together for, the zombies were more individual post-human threats.
Alien invasions on the other hand tend to have a different effect on humanity where all humans have a common goal of protecting their home and fighting off the invaders. V did it from a nazi invasion angle, War of the Worlds did it in a what-if kind of scenario etc.
falling skies milked it to death too though, all the relations n family balony , ugh so much potential, so much time wasted
i want to see like a miniseries like a sci fi generation kill with no fracking homefront balony, just nitty gritty in the thick of it deployed confusion, despair, chaos!
Hey would you make XCOM tv series?
Yes. *Gives family drama and boring feels*
This was befote watching.
After watching ep1.
A christian sherif doing something - I think getting retired, dunno fuck boring. A japanese JASA worker who would like to fly into space but can't. A hindu or pakistani couple who have to deal with affair in their relationship.
3 minutes of weird shit happening.

It's your relatable boring ass people with their fucking problems amid alien invasion, that is happening somewhere, probably. Couldn' bother to watch longer than 5 minutes of second episode when the jap gal was making a video for her girlfriend how she something something.
Let's not forget watching mistresses's instagram and liking food she was eating with a cheating husband.
Relatabable. They are like you, they have problems, now watch how they react to alien invasion that is happening somewhere, maybe Germany.
I also recommend Debris - a more USA wide Stalker ripoff but with 10000% more feels. Feelings remember them, now watch our FBI agents with their daddy issues and identity crisis relatable to the alien arifact of the week.
Relatabable and cancel proof idea for shows.

I fucking knew it. Not exactly that it would br a "like" fest etc, but that it will be about human emotional issues. Pandering to girls watching tlc trash probably. I mean who cares if that 5m tall alien is shooting everyone, jean is breaking up with sam!
Honestly, I quite like the show. The characters are mostly likeable and engaging, and the casting is very good (something that a lot of shows fail to get right).
That said, some of the writing is a bit on-the-nose and it's not without its dumb moments, like the teacher who's never heard of a brake pedal, or the cheating husband who calls his lover instead of 911 when crazy shit starts happening. But these are mostly nit-picks.
If you go in expecting Independence Day, you will be sorely disappointed. The fact that they got Max Richter to do the music should tell you a lot about the tone of the show. This is a slow-burn, sombre exploration of humanity in the face of a global crisis. Apparently the pace picks up later in the season, but I hope it doesn't descend into mindless pew-pew to appease the derps.
After the first two episodes it pretty much turns into a shit show featuring hands down the most incompetent undisciplined spec ops team I've yet seen on screen, with shit weapon handling, riding around without top cover on their vehicles, and my personal favorite - employing a fat guy, because "minorities" apparently. It's like the original Predator meets the era of woke, only back then it was cool.
I'm gonna give 3rd episode a chance and then probably do what I do to most other Apple shows
