|
 |
Hi all.
I bought a new Logitech z906 surround sound speaker system to connect upto my pc and tv if i can.
https://www.logitech.com/en-gb/products/speakers/z906-surround-sound-system.980-000469.html
I Also bought {stupidly i think} the Bluetooth receiver, which comes as an addon with the speaker package.
So had it like a week or so now and i cannot get it working correctly, only 2 front right and front left satellite speakers are working from the 5 satellite speakers and subwoofer box that come with the set.
I connect the red and white cable to the rear of my subwoofer and the other end i plug into the black sound input on the rear of my pc.
I've toggled with the remote too change the effect, nothing.
It is just not set up properly.
Do i need to buy the digital cable to connect it too my pc or tv and i want it all hooked up via my pc.
Plus i have another issue but with my wireless mouse and keyboard which is also Logitech and keyboard a Logitech MK270 Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Desktop Combo Set.
I'm constantly getting mouse and keyboard lag, there is nothing near the wireless usb receiver that is at the front of my pc?
Hope someone can help me out here?
Thanks

Doesen't it come with a manual for setup?
(something like this: https://www.logitech.com/assets/36226/z906620-002920006ug403.pdf)
Also, I'm not sure if you can make a 2 channel output signal from your pc into 5.1 one without some trickery

First off. IF you're using a red/white Y cable that goes into a headphone like jack on one end, that needs to go into the GREEN port on the back of your computer, that's youre main analog line out, always. Black is for the surrounds.
RED/White is 2 channel. You cannot get surround sound out of a 2 channel signal unless you enable some sort of processing which from the looks, that head unit only decodes. You'd need to re-encode the signal into surround.
What you'll want to do is use the optical input on it if anything. Optical sends surround, your head unit should decode that, turn on all your surround options on the head and that should be it.
Otherwise if you're using the green/black/whatever colored ones, just plug those into the same ones on the back of your computer. I assume your unit came with cables for those.
Changing your windows from 2.1 to 5.1 isnt going to solve the issue if you're still using the RED/White cables.
You'd have been better off just buying a used receiver even back from the 90s and buying some cheap satellites

optical cable is an optical cable. It sends 1s and 0s and a cool red light. Just buy whatever one is easier to get that has good ratings.
I dunno what brands you have access to, but all my audio cables for the most part are all mediabridge. They make solid shit that doesn't fall apart and they're cheap.

It's the setup i use from my PC to my TV.. just need an optical cable. Very easy to set up.
Left click over the speaker icon (bottom right) afterwards, then you can select something else than Stereo, i use Dolby Atmos, seems to work fine.. (5.1, 7.1 are greyed out for me).

why don't you use the 6 channel input cable, which comes with the sound system?
3 cable in the back of the subwoofer and 3 in the back of your pc and everything will work like it should.
of course if you also want to connect your tv, an optical cable may be good for that.
i got the same system and im pretty happy with it. for 150 euros it's awesome (until it will break like everything from logitech)

I have the same sound system as you connected to my PC. For best surround experience, purchase an optical cable from Amazon or wherever and your problem will be solved.
