Has overwhelmingly positive reviews, and it is indeed very fun to play.

placing or not placing the cards is in your hand.
at the beginning i did not place any cards that would spawn enemies besides 1 like the battlegrounds that would spawn a treasure chest everytime you pass it.
Besides that there is a progress bar that shows when the boss spawns. You fill it with placing any cards.
So just try to do loops in which you only place hp cards etc. farm some materials and build some expansions on your base.

Ya pretty good game, sadly it gets very grindy after boss 3 the only reason i kinda put it down.

I haven't played it for a while because got bored but: from initial release that might have been patched:
Invest in cheat engine or some mod to make the game play faster than initial setting x7 or x10 is the fastet CE allowed me to play, otherwise you will get tired of the game super fast.
You have to optimize the deck - look up guides.
Some furniture was OP and made the game super easy but I can't tell you know what was it, something with picking up resources that gave you health boost - it was super OP on last boss. It might have been nerfed.
