Annabelle Comes Home director Gary Dauberman will write, direct, and EP the adaptation. James Wan is one of the producers.

Dauberman has written multiple films of The Conjuring franchise with Wan, who is its creator, as well as King's It film adaptation, both chapters.

Quote:
Salem’s Lot follows a writer named Ben Mears who returns to the town of Jerusalem’s Lot (or Salem’s Lot for short) in Maine, where he had lived from the age of five through nine, only to discover that the residents are becoming vampires.

Previous iterations of Salem’s Lot was a 1979 miniseries, a 1987 small-screen follow-up and a two-part TNT series in 2004.

TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."

King's adaptation are on fire lately. Seems that everything is getting remade. I can't say that I liked any of the Salem's Lot adaptations that have been made. Maybe this one will be the one?

Problem with vampires is that they have gone from being scary to "sexy". That needs to change.

Fright Night is still imo the best vampire flick made. Those vampires gave me nightmares as a kid.

Fright Night? it wasn't even a horror as i recall, more like a comedy/horror.. i watched it in my youth many times but don't remember it or the vampires as scary.. vampires should be seductive/sexy, it's deep within the lore since Bram Stoker's Dracula. The whole inspiration of vampirism is quite obviously based on sex.

I do however agree that it can get a bit over the top, Anne Rice's books did eventually bore me because of all the sex.

Best vampire movie for me is either Interview with a Vampire, Lost Boys or Låt den rätta komma in.

I always liked Near Dark a lot, from the newer Vampire movies Låt den rätta komma in is also one of my favorites (US remake is ok as well), never really liked Rice's vampires tbh.
